Ok so here we go...

I get to Jackson around 2:30 so i can pick up my tickets from will call and such. Standing in line and the ticket scanning lady saw me with all my posters and stickers and didn't even have to get my ticket scanned and got to get in just like that haha. people around me were pissed.

anyway, i went and got a spot in the shade before i started trying to hang some stuff up and hear someone yell at me and it was Zach. Hung around with him for a minute. I was about to hang some posters but its like the "historic downtown district" so i couldn't do it. I just gave em out.

sitting around again i saw Eric walking up so I walked up and was like "here have some stickers and buy the new shinedown album". its was rather funny cause i think he thought i was serious. talked to him a little bit. very very nice dude!!

blah

blah

SHOW TIME

SET LIST:

DEVOUR
HEROES
CYANIDE SWEET TOOTH SUICIDE
I DARE YOU
CRY FOR HELP
IF YOU ONLY KNEW
BURNING BRIGHT
SOUND OF MADNESS
THE CROW AND THE BUTTERFLY
SAVE ME<--WHICH HAD THIS AMAZING PRE SONG KINDA THING WHICH I COULD REMEMBER. CHILLS I TELL YA!!
.45
FLY FROM THE INSIDE

this was pretty close to the setlist i wanted with the exception of In Memory.

All i have to say is wow. This was my first FULL band show since June 2006. Saw an acoustic show in August of 2007 but that wasn't much.

NICK FUCKING PERRI!!!!!!!! This guy is an amazing guitarist. I fucking miss Jasin but man is Nick doing this shit so well. The solo to Heroes gave me chills like crazy. All the new stuff is just amazing live. And all the old stuff sounds better than ever. Erics stage presence is just unbelieveable. zach sucked. haha no really, i love the whole huddle up thing during Sound of Madness. Its just SICK!! I could go on and on. but seriously everybody, MAKE IT TO A FUCKING SHOW!! Brents vocals are dead on better than EVER. and you all know how bad ass sir barry is.

You are making me more pumped for the show Tuesday. I agree with you on the Heroes solo, gave me chills when I saw them last month.

Daaamn, I really want to see Shinedown in concert. I'm so jeleous!

Also, how come Shinedown only play about 11/12 songs per concert? Can't they play more, like, 18...or more?

There are time constraints. Plus, Brent talks a lot. Every time I have seen them, it's been 12-13 songs. I know a few bands I have seen play around 16. But they dont interact with the crowd as much

It was a festival--so bands typically only have a limited time slot they can fill. Shinedown wasn't the headliner either.

Goodbye really summed it up well, i'm never any good at remember set lists, so glad he(she) did. they really did an incredible job, brent's vocals were tight. the perfomance kicked ass. it's still going to take some getting used to, the whole different band...but they are doing an incredible job, i have to give them credit.

i didn't get many photos cause with the lighting and smoke they weren't going to come out good anyway. here are the few i got....
i also may or may not be adding videos to my youtube account youtube.com/grayguitar whistle Wink
i passed out an assload of bumper stickers, everyone was excited to get them. sadly mine were a bit soggy because the night before i happend to be standing directly under the drainage from the stage cover it seemed, so i and the few people around me got completly soaked friday night..it was literally like somoene was standing off the edge and dumping buckets of water off on us...haha but the stickers weren't completly ruined. i think i gave out over 100 of them saturday night.
anyways pictures...
