Hey All
Anyone going to see the show in Detroit July 26? I am just wondering if anyone has any experience at this venue, I have never been. Is it usually pretty safe on the floor? What is the view like? It appears to be a pretty small venue (I love that) - can you see well no matter where you are? Thanks! |

Hey guys. The Fillmore is what used to be called the State Theater. It's a pretty cool venue, or at least it was when I went to see a show there 2-3 years ago.
You walk in the door, there's some places for coat-checks, etc. There's a bar right in the middle with seats and stuff, then there's the main floor. When I went, I believe it was Seether, Breaking Benjamin, 3DG, etc. The floor wasn't too violent, but there was some drinking so cups will most likely be underneath your feet. You can get right up close to the stage, so it's really cool. I don't know if they're going to change the set-up or if it'll be the same, but it was a cool venue and should be great for Shinedown. Can't wait for Saturday! |

I'll be there!!! Been WAY to long!!! Can't wait to see the boys at the "the state". At least I know that the weather won't be a factor like the last time they tried to play the D. See y'all there!!!

Great show!! Things were pretty much the same as the previous shows, but being the last show w/ Theory and Black Stone Cherry, there was a little more. Black Stone Cherry did a decent job of getting the crowd going. Theory wasn't bad. They played most of their hits, but the crowd kind of slowed down during Santa Monica. Then, the last two songs were fantastic. Brent came out and sang back up on So Happy. Then, their closer was Bad Girlfriend. Crowd was completely into it, and then the guys from Shinedown came out to mess with them. They were all in short shorts and white and pink Bad Girlfriend t-shirts that were, to say the least, very small. They danced all over the stage during the song. Great song, and very funny moment. Than, Shinedown came on. Set list was:
Devour Heroes Cyanide I Dare You Cry For Help If You Only Knew Left Out-great crowd response Burning Bright Sound Of Madness (with Chris from Black Stone Cherry doing back up and second verse) Crow Save Me with new intro 45 Encore: Second Chance Fly Nothing much to say except they sounded great. The only song I wish they could have played would have been Call Me, but I can't complain. Sixth Shinedown show for me, and the best one yet (although seeing them play an acoustic set at the Michigan State Fair was pretty cool last year). |

Yeah great show no doubt. I was extremely impressed with Black Stone Cherry. I thought they did a tremendous job. Theory was alright, again the final two songs were great. Shinedown was amazing of course. All in all, a really fun night. My ears finally stopped ringing about an hour ago.

That was amazing.
Did anyone else notice as the house lights came up and Simple Man came on (as we were hearing it has been after their shows)...as people were walking out you could hear all these people singing along. That was really cool....I wonder if the guys could hear it... |

This show was definitely the highlight of my weekend and I got some amazing pix..I should have most of them up sometime tomorrow. I got a short and I mean short video of Brent singing with Theory...though I should have video taped during Bad Girlfriend...LOL but I got some pix of that...which prolly won't go online unless I get the ok..to do so!!!!

Amazing, huh??? How about that drive back to my place afterwards? Ummm, sorry for that. But, that's what we get when drunken me is trying to give directions. Would've been kinda nice if Brad had opened up his trap when we were talking, instead of waiting until after you got a little lost
