i went. they were awesome. packed house. crowded was pumped and enthusiast
BUT
no encore??????
wtf. they wrapped it up by 10:15 (maybe 10:20) left the crowd chanting and hollaring for more then most of them walking out disgruntled because the lights come up. i heard ppl in the streets after the show grumbling.
what a shame what a shame..
such an outrageous show but left off on such a disappointing note.
i mean hey, we're talking NYC - the city the never sleeps. i was home walking my dog by 11 pm :\

PS..they didnt even to I Dare You

I agree - no encore was really disappointing. People started booing when the house lights came on! I also wish they had played Simple Man.

Anyone else think the audio was pretty bad? Theory of a Deadman sounded great, but when Shinedown came on, the music was way too loud - I could only barely hear Brent's vocals.

i cant say i have much complaints about the sound. i was sitting at the tables to the left of the stage on the floor.

i wasnt expecting to hear simple man but it would have been a real treat. the kicker was then the lights come up and the house music kicked in it was playing simple man. talk about rubbin it in haha.
who knows maybe there was something going on that prevented them from returning to the stage it seems inconceivable that they didnt do I dare you (even tho its not one of my favs it seems like a must play).
that being said irregardless of what the possibilities are that could have prevented them from doin an encore its not really the fans' problem. especially a crowd as receptive as packed as last nights.
grr. guess i'll quit bitchin. up until the very end i was having a great time.

I thought the show was fabulous...Nice small venue and I loved the new bass player, he's a nice addition Wink

I hate to be negative but I was very disappointed the way it ended with no encore Frowner

I was mega disappointed in the ending. My wife and I both agree, it was a great show. The crowd was pumped, and I loved the venue. Can't wait for the next show. Hey Marilyn, were you the one who gave my wife the cig? I saw you were from FL. If this is you, Thanks. What was with that big guy behind you? Dude, seriously. Haha

Any of you that went to NYC, how many songs did they play? I can't believe they were done my 10:30. I mean, some venues/locations have curfews, but those are usually 11 the earliest. We had that in London but shows start early so you're not really missing anything. I'm just glad I decided not to drive up for it because of the lack of encore & that I woulda driven back in wicked storms (same reason I'm glad I'm not going to MD tonight).

Oh man....I hope that is not what we are in for on Sat night in Detroit. I know they have to play what is negotiated ahead of time but to leave w/o an encore and have the lights flicked on (whether that was the venue or whatever) would really be disappointing. I have seen this more and more the past couple years...shorter sets and stuff. This will be my 1st Shinedown show and I have my hopes way up I guess....

No problem Julie. It was nice meeting you too. Hopefully, Marilyn's home by now and that she had a good time at the show. Maybe see you at the next one.

hey blacksheep- i cant say for certain how many songs they played but i can tell you that saying they were done at 10:30 is being generous. it was probably closer to 10:15.
even the waitress told us she expected them to come back for an encore so by no means was it necessary for them to stop playin that early.

that being said, what was so disappointing is they really were excellent and had the crowd soo pumped for more then... nothing

sdny, thanks for the answer. And Marilyn's flight is probably delayed because we've had a lot of wicked storms tonight. It's better up in Newark than where I am, but the trip down to FL is practically passing through a nice line of red (the most serious).

it was a little upsetting. I saw them at Allentown 6 days before. They played 3 less songs at NYC. They missed Left out, I dare you, and burning bright. second chance and fly were the encore songs. The show was literally 20 mins shorter in NYC. I'm thinking they had an emergency. or they were leaving early for baltimore which they were playing the next night. they show itself was completely insane though. VERY GOOD!

It could have been a weather issue. It has been stormy recently up here. Especially today. But it doesn't explain why they couldn't play three more songs. There has to be an answer behind this. Shinedown is known for their performances and they always give time to the fans.
