I love your song "Second Chance" and listen to it often while driving with my daughters. The lyrics are a bit confusing in one area and apparently I'm not the only one who can't seem to make sense of the chorus where you say, "I just saw Hayley's Comet, she waved" (?). It doesn't really seem to fit although my daughters are certain that that is what you are saying. I did some Googling and all of the sites that provide the lyrics to this song, say the same thing......."she waved". You don't have lyrics to your songs listed here on your site so that is why I'm compelled to ask you directly. So is that, in fact, what you are saying? It seems to me that it would be more logical to suggest you are saying "lee waves" considering lee waves, in a meteorlogical sense, are atmospheric standing waves.
Thanks so much and keep making fantastic music. ~Sandra Jean~ www/Tapestry.imagekind.com |

That's what it says. It's metaphorical, surely. I interpret it to go with the flow of the song. The song is all about going for your dreams, and that's commonly called "Shooting for the stars", right? So the Hayley's comet part I think is just going with that.
That's my take on it, though. |

"It felt greasy for the next two days..." |
Your daughters are correct. It's "she waved." There are a few threads about this (a quick search will pull them up) if you want to see the many different misunderstandings.
I asked Brent after a show and he and Barry both confirmed that it is, indeed, "she waved." |
