I just wanted to let the members of Shinedown know how your concert in Salt Lake City on Aug 27th has effected my family.

I have a daughter Lexi (12 Years old) who has been through many physical trials in her young life. Just this last Monday she went through hopefully her final major surgery.

On Monday Aug 25th her entire spine was fused together and permanent rods were placed to support her spine. It was a LONG 8.5 hour surgery...

There have been MANY concerts I have wanted to go to over the past few years, but circumstances have never allowed me to go to any of them.

I told her a couple of weeks ago about your concert with Red and told her I would love to see you guys live, but with her having surgery, I would not go.

With her being in intensive care at the hospital all this week, I was not going to go so I could be with her as she recovers. Things are quite painful for her right now.

Before Suregery she was trying to get me to promise to take may brother and go even though she would be in the hospital. I told her I would see... I felt bad about leaving her to go to a concert.

What effected me the most was that late Monday afternoon as she woke from anesthesia, the VERY FIRST thing she asked when she could talk was she wanted to know what day it was and that she was afraid that I had missed the concert because of her... It was hard to hold back the emotions from this...

She was more worried whether or not I was going to the concert than the surgery she went through and the pain she was feeling...

She made me PROMISE right then that "NO MATTER WHAT", I would go to the show. So, my brother and I went to the Galivan center to see you guys perform... For Lexi!

Thanks again for coming to SLC so I can make a little girl happy by keeping my promise and coming to your show!

It was truly one of the BEST shows I have ever seen!!!
