Hey guys i want to congragulate yall on such a great new record. but i would like to know what gives you the inspiration to write such deep and motivating songs bcuz ive written alot of stuff that was inspired by some of your stuff and ive always thought that someone has to overcome large amounts of adversities to write like that (45) (what a Shame) so i was just wandering what inspired some of that cuz im someone who is deeply touched by suicide and yall helped me through it.

I would rank it like this...
45 Crow and the Butterfly What a Shame Breaking Inside Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide There would be some changes if the question of sound. I have never seen a song affect as many people as 45 seems to have. Like I have said in from one show a girl in the front row became very emotional during it and Brent proceeded to hug her knowing how much the song meant to her. Crow and the Butterfly deals with such a tragic subject matter and is so perfectly written. What a Shame is a great song for a dedication, it really sounds like Brent's uncle was a special person. I am a big fan of Breaking Inside and I personally do love how it is written. To me I do not think they ever intended it to be a sellout song, just a song that I think several people can relate to. I love Cyanide...but seriously I am still at a loss when it comes to what that song means. White lights. Train wreck. Y'see...madness, as you know, is like gravity. All you need is a little...push... -Joker |

I'm thinking that the song What A Shame is about Jasin though, need to listen to the words

I think white lights, train wreck is about seeing the bright lights of a train before it hits you

Aren't they names for drugs or types of drugs? I think I read that somewhere, possibly on this very board.

What A Shame is about Brent's Uncle. He actually had a small speech about this subject about it at the show in Knoxville, TN. That was the same show where he proposed to his lady in front of all of us.
I personally think that The Crow and The Butterfly is about Jasin. The song is about the loss of someone you love dearly. I don't think it necessarily means someone that has died. But, at the same time I did see Brent and Jasin perform this song together at an acoustic show in Chattanooga, TN. So, maybe it's not about him...who knows. I also agree with willboozely06 on the matter of Breaking Inside. This is, to me, another song with a subject matter along the same lines as Second Chance. Brent expresses feelings of unhappiness in the situation with where he grew up. Which I understand all too well, since I grew up about 40 miles from where Brent did. This song actually hits a chord with my feelings about finally figuring out what you want and expressing your desire to get out. Where you been? Where you from? Don't you know us? We're the ones who got to steal the sun. |

I also have to throw Call Me into this subject. I feel that is one of the best songs that they have written. It is just an amazing song. From the subject matter, which I think screams Jasin, to the use of the piano and orchestra. It is genius, and I absolutely love listening to this song.
