Shinedown is by far my favorite band. I really connect with many of the emotions and themes behind thier songs. Me and my brother were arguing the other day as to whether or not some of Shinedowns songs have religous inspiration for example:
Burning Bright - Possibly someones struggle between thier religous life and thier real life. I Dare You - I think that ones pretty obvious And there are a ton of others. Is it true or am I just thinking too much about it. |

If you go to this site:
http://www.listenin.org/main.php?page=podcast & scroll down to Shinedown (it's in alphabetical order) it has some interview thingys with Brent talking about the inspiration to some of the songs (including I Dare You). |

I thought it was about Brad's brother "...but what if the sky fell and time slipped away, if these are my last words then here's what I'll say....I can't erase it because it's with me everyday, the strangest feeling that never goes away..." - Break, Shinedown |

again, a song's meaning can only be defined by each individual listener. However, Shinedown has said that I dare you is about jasin's brother, and about finding inspiration inside oneself. they have never specified religious inspiration, but if that's what it means to you, then consider that the official meaning.
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my lord, for thee. Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. So we shall flow a river forth unto thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris Et Filii Et Spiritus Sancti. |

No, Jen was right... It's about Brad's brother. Listen to the little "Listen In" thingy from my last post. Brent says it in there. |
