Who ever writes your lyrics, has to have gone through a divorce, been the underdog, tried to find themselves, and understand why they make the choices they do. I don't know who's the lyricist, but Brent and Tony Battaglia compose the music. Brent and the others have said in interviews that it's a group effort, though i think brent has been cited as the driving force.
