I have recently been turned on to Shinedown and i am blown away by you guys. Brent's voice is unbelievable and the music you guys write is the best combination of music and lyrics that i have heard in a long time. I had a band in Richmond Virginia and we got lucky enough to play in New York at the Continental club and it was a great experience. I wrote the lyrics and music for my band and I really appreciate the gift of writting songs and you guys are masters. Can I forward one of my bands songs and get your critique. I would love for someone to use it on the big stage, but some honest critique would be awesome from you guys. By the way, have fun in Beaumont. uhhh yeahhhhh... none to subtle with the "I would love for someone to use it on the big stage" part. Obviously, I don't speak for the band, but you'd have to be some real hot shit for them to do that. They've said before, you gotta make your own breaks. And I doubt they have a lot of free time to work on other people's music, but I guess you never know.

I don't care about breaks dude, I am not looking for any breaks, I have a great life with my family now and I just appreciate great music. The not so subtle on the big stage coment, wasn't about me getting breaks, it's a statement about writing something that is appreciated by the masses, not personal glorification. Might be a good idea not to speak for the band, cause that email was for them, not you and I guess you missed the part where I was giving them mad props for their talent. Perhaps if you created something from nothing (i.e. music) you might understand what I was writing.

lol. chill man. i know typed sarcasm is hard to see, but I was just razzin ya. i have respect for anyone who makes music, I've only done poetry so far, so I know I have no ground to say anything. And I did specify that I'm not speaking for the band, just a guess based on things they've said in other posts. And I'm sorry, but when you post in a public forum, other boardies tend to throw in their two cents. It's not private.

I also am not a member of the band and therefor do not speak for the boys, but all of them are very nice guys and love teh fans. I would not doubt it if they did listen to your song if you posted it or sent it to them somehow, and they would send you back their responses. But I would almost completely doubt that they would play your song on the stage unless it was something that was written as well as Nirvana or Led Zeppelin. And even then it would be a stretch for them to do this favor for you because no one knows who wrote the song and might start thinking its a song from their next cd and that would cause way too much confusion and rumors.
