whats going on? ive been to 2 of your concerts this year in nobelsville, in. and u guy rocked it. um.. im in this band and ive had alot of bad things happen to me as people do but i want to write songs about it possitive songs like u guys do and let people know that it does get better but every time i write it comes out angry and sort of like death metal how do i get it out in a possitive way? thanx fallen_hero.

Well you want a truthful answer? There is no define clear answer. Truthfully I enjoy writing and it's about the feeling you're in. You first gotta have the right lyrics. How do you do that you ask...I don't know, write happy things? There is no defined way to right a positive song man. If it sounds like death metal but it has positive lyrics then maybe its your instrumentals. If theyre playing minor scales very fast very heavy chances are you wont be able to fit a very positive flowing lyrical quality into the song. All I can say is keep trying man, I had the same problem with an instrument before. I always tried playing some dark sounding on my 12 string bass, which is a toughy already, and it always kept sounding all happy and major. Why? Because I barely knew how to play the bass back then, yet alone a 12 string bass! It's gonna take a lot of practice man you're gonna screw up, your songs are gonna suck in the beginning. Everyone sucked at something when they started it! Just try man and youll get it. Here's an example I wrote this the other day, I myself think it's a good speech but I could have never wriiten this a year ago if I never got into writing:

that's just an example and that's about a few years of writing at least 3 nights a week man...
