I work at a mini amusement park in Pigeon Forge TN. Last night, Brent was with two other guys and a pretty blond girl who I guess was his girlfriend. I recognized him pretty much right away, but didn't say anything since he was there to enjoy himself. I told a couple of my friends there who he was, and they didn't really seem to know who Shinedown was. Sad really. Him and his two buddies and his girl were being chauffered around in a big GMC Suburban, which was cool that they chose to keep it real and not do the whole limo thing.

They rode go-karts two times, and asked me if they could line up on the track and start like a real race. His friends and girl were very cool and nice, and Brent even asked me if I would take a picture of them. It was funny, because all they had was a disposable camera with them. Later on, it started raining and the two guys he was with took shelter in our garage. I started talking to them, and they indeed informed that it was Brent from Shinedown.

They asked me if I knew who Shinedown was, and I said of course, and that I knew it was him the whole time but I wanted to respect his privacy and not pester him. They said that they didn't even know Brent was in Knoxville, and that he just showed up at the one guys house. He said that Brent said he wanted to go have fun and ride some go karts, and that he had a corporate credit card and was paying for everything. I told him how cool it was that they all still hang out, and do stuff.

Brent was in the bathroom with his girlfriend, I'm guessing they weren't going to the bathroom, but after he got out his friends introduced me, and told him that I was a fan of his band. He shook my hand, and we talked for a few minutes. He thanked me for being so nice and cool with his friends, and I told him no problem, and for them to come back anytime. He then offered me his autograph, and I told him that would be great, but I didn't want to ask for it because I knew he was there to relax and have fun, not sign autographs.

He said he usually wouldn't do it, but said that I was so cool with him that he would. I currently have plain yellow sheet of paper that reads: "To Jason: ROCK FOREVER!!! SHINEDOWN" and then a big signature from him. I gotta say that he was VERY cool and nice, and didn't act like he was better than everyone. I hope I see them back again.

Sounds like an awesome experience......you made me very jealous as I was reading this entry.....to meet one of the greatest voices on earth one on one is like a dream come true.....well, congratulations and enjoy that autograph!

I love that mini amusement park in Pigeon Forge TN..I spent a whole weekend there last March...my friends and I had such a blast...

Glad you got to meet Brent... he is very cool..such fun memories and a nice reminder of meeting him...

I love Tennessee..especially that area.. Knoxville/Andersonville/Pigeon Forge/Gaitlinberg (great memories for me there )

Holy crap, I think I was at that amusement park before...I know it had go carts and I know it was in pigeon forge...hmm not that it's a big deal since he was there after me haha. Anyways, that's freakin awesome!!! I probably would have made a fool of myself, but you handled it well!!! GOOOO YOU! haha

You know, I don't know 4 Non Blondes work though I definitely heard their name. My sis in law loved them but I'm a huge Linda Perry fan. I wish she'd get back out there. I agree with you 100 1%.
