Just wondering... I'll vote on the 24th

Question:
Which Shinedown CD is your favorite

Choices:
Leave A Whisper
Us and Them
The Sound of Madness

Leave a Whisper hands down. LAW is creative, raw, real, and perfect.
Even though I love UAT; there are sum serously fucked up things about it...sum with the record itself, but mostly with what went on behind the scenes.
I love this record too, but Sound of Madness is a commercial record designed to make money; art takes second place to riches and fame on this record.
If the fucking assholes, you know who you are, had left SD alone, both of these records would have been just as amazing as the first. SD had nothing to lose with LAW, so it's pure SD; the others are tainted big time.
This is of course, IMHO (in my humble opinion).

I didn't listen to the Sound of Madness and all the people who listened to it say it's awesome. My brother says it is better than UAT and LAW and all Alter Bridge CD's (because Shinedown and Alter Bridge are my favorite bands). But I agree with you that LAW is Shinedown, you can feel that it is Shinedown but I am happy because of the change.

Its hard for me. Yesterday i went out and bought LAW cd agian because i never got the hard copy, just itunes version...i played it on the way home and i was just amazed on how good that CD really is. There is only one song where i could say i did not really care for, with SOM its the same thing. They are different CD's and great for their own reason. Therefore i like both CD different for different reasons and i cant really chose.

Why are you shouting?

I chose LAW, for reasons already mentioned.

Sound of Madness is good, but there are a couple of songs that are way overproduced. Devour just seems like a waste of Brent's vocal ability to me, and If You Only Knew seems really generic as well. The only way I see them topping LAW in the future is if they make it really big, drop the record label, and start making music just for the hell of it instead of trying to sell cds. I'm not criticizing them for making the decisions thev're made, because I would do the same, but it just isn't what's best from an artistic standpoint.

It was pretty much a tie for me between law and tsom. I personally think devour should not have made the cut and been replaced by junkies for fame. Out of all 3cds INCLUDING bonus tracks so far Devour is the worst track!

Thank you for the venom. Did you think it would paralyze?

Amen. With LAW, four fantastically talented musicians did it their way. This is why Leave A Whisper is such a stellar record. Even the record title is way above and beyond belief, and 7 years later everything about this record, the cover design, the lyrics, the guitar, the drums, the bass, the vocals, the soul, still amazes me. And the live shows during the LAW tour literally transported us to another reality. It really fucking changed my life and I will always be deeply greatful for that no matter what happens in the future.

That is so true Donna. LAW takes me back so much. I guess I was in a really dark time in my life when that record dropped. And the tour from that album, oh my god. I can still in my mind watch those shows that I witnessed in my mind. too amazing!

Wow, I guess I'm not the only one who doesn't show as much love for UAT as I/we do for LAW and TSOM huh?? Well, it's good to know that I'm certainly not alone.

I still like LAW the best, because it was the cd that got me into the band in the first place, not to mention it was flawless.

First impressions are ever lasting I guess.
