Its not 100% for sure yet, but he did ask Brent for permission. I definitely suggest tuning in as well! I thought he did great with "Broken", so I think it'd be awesome to hear him do Shinedown. I know he's a big fan!

I'm really praying the judges like the song. I wouldn't be watching the show if he wasn't on it this year. It was kind of getting old for me. Where did you hear he actually asked Brent?? Hey, if MTV won't play their videos I'll definitely settle for covers. Can I hear free promotion!? Anyways, I'm friggin excited!
GOOOO CHRIS!

there is an interview on here, the boards w/ brad, and in there it says chris asked "shinedown" if he could sing the song. idk exactly who he asked though... prolly brent and brad since they wrote it. ~~~~~~~~~~~ *{K}{A}{R}{I}* ~~~~~~~~~~~

I know that he asked Brent and management cause I know people..... though I'm surprised its something everyone hasn't heard about sooner. I would think they'd want lots of people to tune in if it does happen.....

I thought he did ok, and you definately can tell how hard that song is and how great brent is just by how daughtry perfromed. But hey hes showing shinedown love and any publicity is good publicity

That isn't good publicity.... he screamed wayyyyyyyyyyyy too much. People are gonna think that is how the song is and not wanna listen. That performance blew.... not only did he butcher it, it almost cost him his voice.

yeah im not an AI fan, he did a great job on renegade, but not i dare u, u kinda butchered it. Shows the amount of power that brent has in his voice. and yeah i def HATE the judges "not a good song pic" they prolly had never heard the song in its orginal version, and thats the impression they get. but none the less im glad he pick a SD tune to sing!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~ *{K}{A}{R}{I}* ~~~~~~~~~~~

Oh God, did he ever SUCK on it! The song is hard, I will grant that. but...it was almost the equivalent of Constantine from last season totally killing Nickelbacks "How You Remind Me". Please God, don't ever let Chris sing this song again.

I just wanted to say that I've heard of Shinedown before but have never heard the music...until I heard Chris Daughtry's excellent performance tonight. And, now I'm here reading the forum and listening to the music. So, I'd say very good PR. Shinedown has a new fan.

Go listen to the real song... Chris' performance wasn't excellent! LOL I Dare YOu is probably my least Fav SD song, yet they are still lightyears ahead of his performance tonight... Granted, Brent is def a hard act to copy, but he sang itc ompletely wrong. YOu could hear his vocals about to snap at a couple points during his performance.
