Ahhh ok. I'm about to be picked up in about a half hour. The lead singer and bassist of my band had lunch with the guys today. hahaha They have a few stories to tell. According to them, Brent wrestled one year in high school, and Barry was in a cover band early on in the 90's. lol He told them that they covered Smells Like Teen Spirit and people thought it was their own original song because it hadn't gotten big back then. Ahhh too cool. So yeah, I'm gonna ask if I can video tape the guys to post on here so ya'll can get a few laughs in. No promises though. I have half an hour. Anyone want me to say anything? You have to reply quickly!!!

SO, SO sorry for the wait. I'm going to post what I sent a friend of mine (who actually reads these boards!)

ahhh man it was AMAZING. spent lunch with the guys. lol they had this GHETTTTO RV thing. it was hilarious. i have pics. i got a pic of one of the guys boobs... lmao, they flashed us from the rv. that was hilarious lmao. then lets see. oh man the show. WOW. just WOW. best show i've EVERRRR been to (and that's saying something). they told the crowd (it was a soldier only show) that out of all the shows theyve played, and all the years that theyve toured, that this show was their most meaningful and one that theyd never forget. and man, they put out. an hour and 45 min set. i've seen em twice before, and i've never heard em sound as good as they did. it was ass-kicking, yet emotional. brent started to cry a little bit. they played "lost in the crowd" which they said that they havent played in over two years... and they absolutely nailed it. it was amazing. then afterwards, they stayed and talked to EVERY SINGLE SOLDIER. took pictures, signed autographs, etc. it was an amazing day/night

And to top it off, they put a blog on myspace about it. "Col. Burns" is my next door neighbor. One son of his is the vocalist in my band, and my very best friend, while the other is the bassist. Pretty freakin' sweet eh? So yeah, here's the blog they posted about the show I attended.

"This statement is solely from the views of one J. Strykyr.

We, (the) Shiner's had a very moving experience this past week. USO flew our band over to El Paso namely, Ft. Bliss for a surprise concert to send off some very honorable men and women. You must understand many of the people we met were 18-21 year old kids. Well, that is probably the wrong thing to say, these (kids) are going into something which requires them to grow up...really fast. They're doing this for all of us, many out of pure American spirit, unsure of what could happen. We (Shinedown), are obviously nothing special, but after playing many shows, i think this particular show stood above all. To have this opportunity, well it made us all step back and think about how precious life is. My brother has been in the Air Force for many, many years and is presently overseas away from his family, serving OUR COUNTRY, so this hit really close to home for me. We're not a political band, everyone may have their own views and opinions..great. One thing we can all agree on, is that we are Free to bring the world music and this freedom is upheld by these brave men and women. I'll remember every one of you. Bless you all and be safe bro's. Col. Burns, you Sir are an inspiration to all of us in Shinedown. The way you carry yourself and care for all your troops is everything I wanted to and do believe in.

Thank you Sir!!! All of you are in our hearts."

Awesome, eh?
