I’m not sure about the rest of the world, but I don’t hear much about Shinedown at all here in the Houston, TX area or on national radio, tv, etc, etc.
I think there are probably the most EXTREMELY underrated rock band out there now.
I mean com’on, Brent Smith is one of the most passionate front men I’ve seen in a looong time. The way the dude sings each and every song is so passionate. He just doesn’t sit behind the mic and spit out lyrics, the dude really feels it and it comes through in his delivery sort of like a Chris Cornell or James Hetfield type, not the greatest voice in the world, but the delivery of emotion is uncanny.
Whether it’s a balls out rocker or mellow ballad Shinedown needs to be recognized because these guys have some talent. I’m not sure if the record company doesn’t promote them much or what. It just pisses me of to see a hugely talented band not getting a lot of attention and recognition with all the other bullshit that’s played on the radio now a days.

I agree. They deserve 80 times the love and success that they have.... but they are speadin the word... slowly but surely.... at least now I can tell random people about shinedown and have them at least recognize the name....

I've been saying this since I first saw them in late 2003...I just can't stand watching the American Music Awards and watch the Hilary Duff's and Lindsay Lohan's butcher singing to the highest degree. Why not Shinedown? Maybe not for something as big as the AMA's but how about Atlantic actually do their part to get these guys some quality recognition!

I'm in Utah right now and I haven't heard them once on the radio or anything... The only way i know of them is because my ex in the Air Force got turned on to them from someone else. I certainly don't think they get promoted the way they should!

They might not be promoted as much as they should but I know im helping with word of mouth, Im trying to get my friends into Shinedown, one by one, they are definately worth a moment of everybody's time, Brent just has an awesome voice and their music is great!

I agree whole-heartidly with everyone, Good band not good recognition... thats why us as fans have to work 10x harder for these guys! make sure everyone checks out the street team and do what they can.

They definately are underrated. Brent has one of the best voices in all rock and Jasin is a very talented guitarist. He really stepped up for Us And Them and showed some skill. I put Shinedown easily in my top 5 bands of:

1. Pearl Jam
2. Shinedown
3. Foo Fighters
4. Seether
5. Jimmy Eat World

i live in houston and they dont seem very underrated to me...i hear them on the radio on the time, alot more now that snocore is coming
