I honestly think if Brent Smith and Shaun Morgan (seether) teamed up they can be like Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder with temple of the dog. I think they should make 1 studio album. If they did this it would be amazing. Speaking of Temple of the Dog, i would also love Brent and Shaun to cover Hungerstrike.

They would sound great together... but nothing touches Temple of the Dog. That was just magical. Also I think their voices are very different than Vedder/Cornell. I think you'd need someone with a higher vocal range to do that correctly. Brent could fill the Vedder role, and say Myles Kennedy from Alter Bridge could hit all of the insanely high stuff. But I agree, people need to do this more often, it barely ever happens anymore.

keep in mind eddie vedder wasnt really a full member of Temple of the Dog, he sang in Hunger Strike but thats about it. Chris Cornell was the singer/songwriter of that band. also keep in mind that almost all of the grunge bands came from Seattle or near Seattle so they were much closer then say brent and shaun, who have toured together but brents from Tennessee, while shauns from south africa

although i think shaun and brent would be great, i think brent with either aaron lewis, or myles kennedy would be much better

~*-Excuse me while I have my grunge geek moment. I'm a huge fan of most of the bands from that genre/time.-*~

I see where you're going with this idea but Temple of a Dog wasn't about two good singers getting together to make an album. The band was more of a tribute of sorts to Andrew Wood. He was the lead singer of Mother Love Bone. He died of an overdose. Everyone involved in the band (minus Vedder) was a friend or bandmate and the album is a result of them coming together to make music in his memory. It was pre-Pearl Jam/super early Sound Garden days. In fact, Vedder was in town to audition for what would become Pearl Jam and his contribution was something that just kind of happened.

~*-Okay, history lesson over! Sorry but I couldn't help it.-*~

I think it'd be cool if a bunch of bands got together and put together an album featuring a bunch of collaborations...Shinedown, Theory of a Deadman, Seether, Sevendust, etc. all bands that have toured together and are friends. There aren't enough collaborations out there, especially since so many of them that are done are so good.

I think it's funny that the Temple of the Dog album was released and didn't really sell many copies and was kind of forgotten, then a couple years later the label realized they had a gold mine sitting on their hands with a collaboration of the then huge Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Kinda like finding out the old junk that's been sitting out in the garage is actually really valuable antiques...
