Okay, Behind the Music Part II: Struggles Within the Bus (lol)

*brent* "the bus just really started to get boring fast. i mean, how much alcohol can you drink before you pass out? that's not fun! how long can you watch barry play x box? that get's kinda dull. how long can you listen to brad gripe about his ripped pants? *brad screams in the background "i do not brent! be nice!"* yeah, like i said, that gets crazy! and jasin, don't get me started on that guy! he thinks i'm crazy?"

*jasin* "yeah, brent has some issues. pants issues. i saw him stuff some socks down his levi's one night. very interesting situation. when i confonted him about it, he just shrugged and giggled, said it was nothing and that i was seeing things. well brent, answer your own question, do i look blind?"

*barry* "i guess everyone has a problem with me playing x box so much, but they can all go kiss my magic drum sticks!"

*brad* "i do not rip my pants! okay, maybe here and there, but i go to therapy with spongebob squarepants, so at least i know i'm not alone in this world!"

*camera dude* so, can you tell us what you do before a show? how you get ready?

*brent* we basically do what we are doing now, minus the questions. i warm up my voice, jasin plays guitar, brad plays bass, and barry plays some elctric drums.

*jasin* i like dirt bikes.

*brad* do these pants make me look fat?

*barry* yeah, we totally get into our zone.

*camera dude* brent, do you ever take off your shirt?

*brent* (evil laugh) not really.

*brad* he doesn't even take it off in the shower! he sleeps with the same shirt on, even the jacket! he's nuts!

*barry* he does too take his shirt off! i've seen him do it!

*jasin* i love dirt bikes, but they hurt my knees.

*camera dude* okay, anyways, moving on...brent, who are your inspirations?

*brent* otis redding, chris cornell, lynyrd skynyrd. i love those guys! otis redding is my biggest hero, though.

*jasin* brent brent brent. oh yeah, guess what camera dude?

*camera dude* what jasin?

*brent* hey jasin?
*jasin* yeah?
*brent* what do you want for your birthday this year?
*jasin* a dirt bike!
*brent* figures. do you think about anything else?
*jasin* umm.....err.....hmm.....umm.....naw!
*brent* yup, figures.

*brad standing next to jasin*

*barry* hey brent, look! smurff vs. king kong!

SCENE 3

*brent bending over to grab shirt, brad walks in and smacks his ass, runs out of the room laughing like a school girl. brent chases after him, finds him, puts him in a head lock.*

SCENE 4

*jasin strumming guitar*

*camera dude* so jasin, you ready to shoot the next scene?

*jasin* you know, the sky is blue! and dirt bikes make my knees hurt. i only smoke camels, no newports. i like surfing, but i only sleep during the day. random random random. guess what? i like dirt bikes. that's why i have a bum knee. and guitars are fun, but when i pop a string, it makes me cry. i don't like popping strings. and i don't like when brad pinches my nipples and smacks my ass, it makes me uncomfortable. and barry always bangs his magic drum sticks on everything, and i can't sleep when he does that because ge does it during the day. and i think brad has a crush on angelina jolie, and he is convinced that he is brad pitt. and brent should dye his hair red again, and i'm glad he shaved his beard off because people thought we was twins, and i ain't that southern or random! why do people say i'm random? i'm not random! i've never been random a day in all my life, and i never will be random ever! oh yeah, guess what?

*camera dude* i only asked if you're ready to shoot the next scene...

*jasin* i like dirt bikes! any kind of dirt bike, just as long as i can ride it in the dirt. but i only sleep during the day. and you know what else? acid makes your eyes bluer! it has side effects like nausea, heart burn, upset stomach, rash, fever, headache, sleepiness, sleeplessness, and vaginal secretion...umm, forget the last one. okay, and i'm not random, so don't make rumors about me okay? and no, phlax ain't my brother, he's my baby's mama's grandma's brother's cousin's uncle's chinese next door neighbor's goldfish's imaginary friend...

*camera dude sits with stunned look on his face*

*brent warming up his vocals, brad walks in*

*brad* hey brent?
*brent* yeah?
*brad* (smiles innocently) wacha doin'?
*brent* warming up my vocals for the show.
*brad* do you need help?
*brent* no. what do you want?
*brad* umm...hehehe...i can't reach the oreo's in the bus, jasin put them up too high.
*brent* umm...get a soap box.
*brad* great idea!

*camera dude* jasin, can we please just do the interview?

*jasin* sure.

*camera dude* thanks. okay, so tell me about what it's like to be married to melody vanzant?

*jasin* well, she's awesome...and she likes dirt bikes too! she loves them. she rides them better than me, because she don't need a knee brace...

*camera dude walks out*

(finally) Behind the Music Part 5: Just Read For Yourself...Band Camp



*brent* so yeah, i totally remember band camp. it was insane. i remember stepping out of the bus and saying to myself, "oh man! i'm so out of place! i'll never fit in here, i'm such an outcast!". but that was before i saw jasin and the other guy.

*brad* it was fun. lots of chicks. i liked toasting marshmellows over an open fire. very cool.

*jasin* it was kinda like a bad dirt bike experience at first, but i warmed up to it all. once i played some skynyrd for the group, they started to like me...until i played the twilight zone for 6 hours straight with my eyes closed, everyone left. i cried, still don't know why they left. and they thought i was a random guy...well, i ain't random! no sir no way in hell am i random! i don't fucking curse either, i don't drink (takes a sip of cocktail), and i totally don't smoke (lights a camel). but hey, people stereo type me, and they call me green giant, and they tell me i'm a toothpick, and they tell me that i need to stop imitating skynyrd songs on stage, but...oh yeah, band camp. wait, i went to band camp? i thought phlax went to band camp? i met phlax at band camp, which is such a funny story.....

*barry* yeah, jasin has always been such a freakin' weirdo. i mean, he used to talk to walls. poor guy would just sit there and have such a conversation. i still often wonder what the fuck he rambles about, but who knows

*jasin* so phlax was like, "i'm gonna piss on you" and i was like, "fuck no you ain't man!" and he's like, "fuck yeah i am you douche bag!" and i was like, "i dare you fucker!" and he pissed on a tree, and he told me that i was the tree, and that i have branches and shit growing out my ass and that i need to get groomed.....

*brent* so, jasin is still rambling in the next room? man, i feel bad for the camera dude!

*brad* holy shit! i hear him in here! JASIN! SHUT UP MAN!

*barry* (laughs) oh my god! i need a beer!

*jasin* and so he pissed again, and i was like, "dude! you're my new bestest friend in the whole entire wide world, i want to adopt you as my brother because we look alike!", and he was like, "hey jasin?", and i was like, "yeah?", and he was like, "we don't look alike assclown! i don't have a dead animal on my fucking face!", and i was like, "you are the dead animal on my fucking face!", and he was like, "you're wife is hot!", and so i called melody and asked her if we could keep him, and she said, "hell no! we already have you, we don't need anymore animals!", and i cried, and she said we could keep him, and i named him phlax, and he pees a lot, and he smells kinda funny, and he likes cocktails, and he likes dirt bikes too, and he surfs too, and one time he almost got eaten by a shark.....

*brent* (holding head in his hands) my god! calm down jesus! you're scaring the kids!

*barry* (laughs) man! i need another case of beer, i just finished my 12th!

*brad* (laughs hard and falls out of the chair, set behind him falls down)

*brent* oh man! barry, what got into these fuckers today?

*barry* (yells) THE FUCK IF I KNOW REV! GOT ANY POPCORN?

*jasin* so now aria and phlax play tea party together, and it's so cute! i have them on photographs, but phlax doesn't come out on them, i don't know why. and he told me he is from hell, and that makes me a little sad and scared, but he is my bestest friend in the whole widest world of all time! and i love him like he was my brother and son! and i think he is one handsom little fucker! I LOVE YOU PHLAX!! okay, the end.

*brent* (sits with shocked look on face)

*barry* (laughs) damn! hey jasin, you done yet?

*brad* (laughing hard) i can't feel my spleen! omfg! i think i broke my spleen! i broke my intestines! i can't feel my arms! my legs! omfg! my ass! i think i split my pants!

*jasin* so, this one time on stage...nevermind. band camp? naw, i ain't never been. next question...

*brent* okay, umm, yeah. wow. this is being put on the spot, isn't it? jasin, go to bed! brad, are you okay?

*brad* shit! i think i broke my spleen!

*barry* yeah, um, shall i give the announcment for part 6? or is part 5 to be continued?

*scene opens barry finishing off his 6th beer, laughing at brad*

*barry* jesus christ bradley! are you still on the floor?

*brad* my spleen! oh my spleen! it's broken forever! oh my god!

*brent* (sings) sittin' on the dock of the bay...

*jasin* hey, you know that movie about the little people and the chick with the dress?

*zach* isn't that snow white?

*jasin* yeah! yeah, that's the movie! it inspired me to do something new today! i watched it earlier, and i was like totally inspired!

*zach* i can't imagine what on earth it inspired you to do, and i'm afraid to find out...okay, what did it inspire you to do?

*jasin* smoke more camels and drink more cocktails! the movie is so much better when you're shit faced! it looks 3d! (laughs)

*zach gives a blank stair*

*camera dude* okay, anyways, lets start filming the next scene. this take will be about you guys just jamming and having fun, okay?

*all together* okay

*barry starts off playing a few various beats, brad joins in with a few bass riffs, jasin and zach join in with random chords, and brent picks up the microphone*

*brent* what should i sing?

Behind the Music: Part 6 ... The Shinedown Modeling Days

*Brent* Yeah, it was hard to come up with money for a place to stay, I was homeless anyways, so it didn't matter, but we all needed a little place to call home, equipment, and all that. Well, we weren't about to break into the Porn industry because, first off, we tried, and they didn't believe Brad was older than 14, so that was a big NO! We tried the fast food thing, but all Jasin did was scare the kids away with his Phlax talk. We tried pretty much everything, but the one thing we did find to be a success was modeling.

*shows clips/pictures of the boys*






*Brent* To think, they all thought I had on boxers under those Overalls! (laughs). And then I did an add for some alcohol! That was fun. I remember Jasin was signing pictures at the end of the cat walk one day, and he almost fell into the crowd because he'd been drinking a lot of Jager! That was hilarious! Yes, the good ol' days of modeling! We did these face shots, they were great.
