I've heard three explanations. 1.On the tour with three doors down, which my brother saw, he says it was explained as being about their schytzofrenic (spelling?) friend. 2.On the AOL interview, they said it was about a fireman. 3.On the SnoCore tour, Brent says it's about trying to find inspiration around you.
And shepherds we shall be, for thee my lord, for thee. Power hath descended forth from thy hand, that our feet may swiftly carry out thy command. So we shall flow a river forth unto thee, and teeming with souls shall it ever be. In Nomine Patris Et Filii Et Spiritus Sancti.

In the beyond the pit chat a few months ago Brent said it was written about Brad's brother who is a fireman. But as with so many of their songs I think it has many meanings.
Now I feel I've lost you to the feelings I kept inside

Then we'll just say it's for you.
