Saw the MTV2 concert last night. The producer of that should be shot. That could not have been any more of a fallacy of how Shinedown really sounds. Why even air something and claim that it's live when it obviously wasn't?? The amount of overdubs and sampling on that was utterly horrible and disappointing. Whoever produced that concert should turn in their 'creative ticket'. That couldn't have been a more of a trying to put one over on the fans of the band. Does anyone know who this person was and what makes them believe that someone who's seen the band more than once actually thinks that this is how they really sound. So much for a 'real representation' and a 'live feel'. That was horrible to say the least. If i wanted to hear that, i should've just put on the cd if i wanted to hear something 'overdubbed and sampled'.

I agree with this, the rest I am iffy on. The reason I am enraged with the MTV2 people is they

1) devoted half a fucking hour to actual music (so sorry to interrupt your bullshit nonsense reality show marathon of a channel with MUSIC). You can't devote an hour to this and play maybe I don't know TWO more songs and actually talk to the band! Are the people who watch MTV2 going to be so pissed off at the sound of music instead of watching Rob & Big or Viva La Bam or whatever retarded ass mindless shlock that airs on that station that they will never watch the station again if music is on. For God's sake it's called MUSIC Television!

2) showed mostly fucking commercials. What was the ratio? like 19 minutes of concert/interview to 11 minutes of commercials!

3) They cut Save Me for a commercial break. Jesus fucking Christ, you cut the to a commercial in the middle song! What the fuck is wrong with you!? We got a minute to a minute and a half of Save Me!

4) Is it me or is this just another subtle "Fuck you" to the band, just like they refused to show the 45 music video. They devote half an hour at obscure fucking times to the band, and when you sit down and watch it. You hear from Zach: once! You hear from Barry: once. You hear from Eric: once! You hear from Brent: twice! It was like commercials were being interrupted by Shinedown songs.

I sincerely hope that there is more complete version of this, and that it finds its way on the Palladia channel.

In honesty, I don't think the casual non-SD fan will be too fussed by the overdubbing and the like. It was a well performed and produced set, from the point of view of acquiring new fans and appeasing existing ones. Sure, the selection of "LIVE SHOULD BE 100$ LIVE" type people might be disgruntled, but I don't think that's a big enough number to hurt the success of the MTV2 concert.

Why are you guys mad at the editor for Shinedown using pro tools? They use it in concert, whether you hear it or not. I didn't like it at first because I was one of those people who thought that live should be 100% live, but if you write a masterpiece, wouldn't you want the world to hear that version?

They could have used a bit less of pro tools. Wanna hear the crowd some more. But pro tools was a good thing.

I am not mad at the use of the pro-tools or whatever it is called. I am mad that our band got fucked over by this "music" television, there is more than half an hour of stuff in there. Shinedown, please tell me the complete version is coming to Palladia! This MTV2 version doesn't do you justice!

It's a half hour special. The rest is sitting somewhere unproduced and unfinished. You won't see it, unless something magica happens.

sometimes 30 or 60 minute specials ARE shortened cuts of a DVD or what will eventually become one.

... just sayin.

Yeah but it's MTV2. they shot it, they'll keep it. Sadly enough though cause that was probably the show of their lives,

didn't that link to progress update that the editor made say that he shot it, and it was something he wanted to do for years, and that mtv2 picked it up and had to send him all the info about commercial breaks and all that? He made it sound like he is, or worked for, a private company and that mtv2 picked it up when he shopped it around.
