What the hell? It's really not on there? I thought that was a typo when I saw it on the pre-order page.

No idea why the would do such a thing. I mean the song is obviously doing more than only well in the states, heck, it even gets airplay in Switzerland/Austria.

Maybe they want to release it as a single? But that wouldn't make any sense either :s

That sucks. Maybe they're trying to be like The Beatles and not have the main single on the album?

Not being funny, but its obviously about money making.

They are releasing Sound of Madness as a single over here, but obviously with Second Chance not being on the album, and hardcore enough fans realising that this is in fact the current single in the US, the only option is for UK fans to then buy the Second Chance single OR the US version of the album...

Fair play to them, they got it sorted, very clever. I am buying the US fan club edition, simply because I wanted both the black on white, and the white on black covers (apparently there are additional covers in the US version too??)

Its a shame its not on, but, on a plus note, all THREE "bonus" tracks are on the UK album as standard, which fills me with extreme hope that they will actually play them (preferably Son of Sam) live in their shows in the autumn!!!

uber yay to SD if they do that...

They obviously like the variation, and by having so many different versions of the same album, including the missing crow from the album cover, it only entices fans from both sides of the lake to buy the alternative version.

Cos, you can bet your bottom dollar, fans in the US want the album with four band members represented on the front, as well as the one with five, AND the fan club edition? Its all money in SD's pockets, and more importantly, its more sales of the SAME CD, so they're getting good sales ratings.

I appreciate why they, and other bands, do it.

before everyone starts hating on the band for shoddy marketing practices, read the label on the CD. THAT is who is really responsible. (Atlantic)

that sucks big time...this is so obviously all about money making.

anyways i don't really get the difference between the UK and Switzerland. here the album was released on the same day as in the US and with the same songs on it. what the hell is the logic behind different releases throughout europe?!

they already had a tour planned for the UK. always good to release the album simultaneously with a tour. since they weren't touring switzerland, no reason to release differently.

TSOM is being sold off on Play.com for £4.99 now. Rumours of a re-release in June with Second Chance on.

Monumental fuck up anyone?

Probably not a "fuck up" as such...

Probably a planned "fuck up" because oh look, now they're earning money and CD sales from TWO CDs in the UK!

Clever... Like it.. Im not buying it though. I already have the US fan club edition and the UK version.. oh and I downloaded the album, like, a year ago onto my ipod, so, that'll do for me ta.

This may be an extremely stupid question, but I need to ask anyway.

I have the UK edition, so obviously I don't have "Second Chance". My question is this... Is "Second Chance" available to buy on CD as a single in the UK? Or am I able to order it from anywhere? I don't see that it's worth buying another version of the same album for it, but then I still want to have the track as well...

I know I could just download it, but I like CDs... they're pretty! lol

Any help would be great!

In Germany they released Second Chance as single version. Here is the link to Amazon.de:

http://www.amazon.de/Second-Ch...id=1242913069&sr=8-4

They also ship to the UK, but I guess the shipping costs are higher than the CD itself.

could be the reasons the Beatles never released their CD's with their single. They may feel like, you already bought the single, no reason to buy the CD and get the same song again... most likely this is not the case though
