Nick Perri Will Leave Shinedown After Tonights Show

I’d like to thank Nick for touring with us over the past year and I wish Nick the best in his future endeavors. That being said, I’m pleased Zach is taking over Nick’s role in the group. Zach is one of the most phenomenal guitarists I know. We’re looking forward to all the upcoming touring we’ll be doing in the new year. -Brent

Shiiiit, what a shame! Nick is bad ass and I will really miss him. I saw him live, he was a beast!

Best of luck Nick, you rock!

I went to the show last night in Chicago and could tell this was coming. Nick wasn't in the pre-show interview and when the show was over and they bowed on stage the band went over to Nick and gave him an extra hug like it was the last time they would play with him. I even told my wife on the drive home that I think Nick is leaving the band. I think Shinedown should always have 2 guitarists and now would be the perfect time to bring Jasin back if both he and Shinedown are ready and willing. I think we need more than just Zach. Bring back Jasin guys-one of the original members of Shinedown. I think he deserves his SECOND CHANCE!

Haha, good way to pull on the old heart strings there! SECOND CHANCE~! Haha, nice one. It would be awesome to have Jasin back...but let's not doubt Zach's skills either - he's an awesome gutiarist.

Good for Nick! I'm glad he's going to do what is best for him and makes him happy. I love Nick dearly and want only the best for this truly gifted guy. He's one of a kind and deserves to follow his dreams no matter where they lead him. Love ya Nick!

In my own opinion, i don't think Nick has his heart in the style of music Shinedown plays. It's so vastly different than what he's written in the past. That was my first thought when he joined that band, that it wouldn't be the best fit for either side. It could be too, that as an artist, he isn't comfortable playing something he hasn't written, or been a part of writing, and like he says in his video on the homepage, it has nothing to do with the band.

He's a great guitarist, and i want to see him doing something that he is 1000% enthused with and into.

We love you, Jasin

okay so this news is enough to get me posting again. now i can say this, you could tell from watching him play that he wasn't exactly just into it 1000 percent like yuke said. I am glad that he helped them out though. i'm really shocked. but me being stupid JUST got into silvertide around the time he joined shinedown. so i REALLY can't wait to see them again!

well now i'm even more upset i missed the charlotte show. like some of you have already said, i'm not completely surprised, but it does seem that his time was quite short with shinedown. i would have thought he would have stayed at least through the complete tour.

i wish shinedown would pick up another guitarist though. shinedown made me believe a single guitar can acutally work live back before zach joined up, but there's still only so much that is physically possible with a single guitar. and tracks are just plain fking lame. i cry a little inside every time i hear music that isn't actually being played at a live show.

if jasin and the band are both ready, it would be awsome to bring him back, but i doubt that is going to happen, at least not yet. in my little fantasy band lineup, ross childress (formerly of collective soul) would be kickass for shinedown. he needs a good home in a proper rock band.

Just like shinedown2237 said. Why can't Jasin have a Second Chance... Nick rocked... wow Shinedown now has lots of history and changes... Good Luck! And he is more of a Silvertide dude.

So does this mean that Silvertide will be back? Sweet! Shinedown will persevere without Nick; Silvertide needs him more.

I too am sad to see him go, but I am stoked because of Silvertide hopefully getting back out soon. I fell into Silvertide not too long after the debut of their first cd, and I really enjoy their style. I too was confused seeing Nick had to go to a much different sound with Shinedown. It definitely will be interesting to see how the next months play out...I am in full agreement though, they need 2 guitarists.
