The Sound of Madness was released one year ago today. Wow it's gone really quickly, hasn't it? I still remember all the buzz in the buildup like it was yesterday.

Since the release the album has gone Gold (anybody know how close to platinum?), three number one singles, one of them going platinum and being a MASSIVE crossover hit, a shedload of successful tours, three music videos... that, my friends, is a shit load of good shit.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SHINEDOWN ON A BRILLIANT YEAR!

May the good times continue to roll.

Damn, a year? Haha, time does fly. Well that's FANTASTIC!!! I'm so proud to be a Shinedown fan, because in 10 years, when people see that Soulja Boy and those other losers aren't nearly as good as Shinedown, we will be the veteran fans. They will bow to us all!

I think it will... Second Chance is a huge hit for them. I have friends who never heard of this band, hear that song and love the band. I went to the gym yesterday and the first song i hear is second chance, my buddy goes to me and like, who is this? its good...so i think it will go platinum in a year, its harder for albums to sell, as in the past where people bought the CD because it was the only way to listen to it, now people torrent them online and such, but i truely believe that this album will go platium... If this CD came out in the late 90's then it would have been double platinum or even more

After the next single it will go platinum. Im assuming, If you only knew maybe? This would have the same pop effect as Second Chance.

That's what I figured. It would have the same effect but just not on the same level as Second Chance but I have a feeling it will be a great single. The question is which is after IYOK. We know it goes heavy, soft, heavy, soft, ?. I want Cyanide to be a single because it would be a great rock it but so would Cry for Help so I'm not 100% sure.

Times does fly when you're having fun.
They've done extremely well with SOM. I don't know how close to Platinum, but I'm surprised it hasn't gotten it...yet.
Absolutely brilliantly fun year. Big Grin

I wonder if that means we get a new record soon? Razzer

Late 2010 according to Zach. I forget who reported that though, someone on here. Plus Wiki, WITH a source.

Wow, that's gonna seem to take forever.
Leastways, it'll be worth the wait! Big Grin

Sixx AM is working on a new record... That should hold me over.

i believe he said that on these very forums. BUT, the way things are going now, even that may be too soon. (not for us, but for SOM) the reasoning behind the later next album was to release as many singles off of SOM as possible. the way things are going now, the singles are sticking around too long :P. they either have to rush the releases, which could hurt the individual singles (but probably help the album), or release fewer.

They try to write a song a week. So it wouldn't be rushed. it would be a matter of choosing the best songs.

Seeing a previous post mention that Second Chance is getting Radio 1 airplay, I was in Asda (the UK version of Walmart for our US friends) and they were playing it on their 'radio station'. I was gobsmacked!
