Definitely "Breaking Inside". "Second Chance" did so well and I think "Breaking Inside" would continue the streak, if not raise the bar. "Sound of Madness" would also be amazing, but it's not as mainstream, and would definitely hurt the image they've created, more than it would help it. "The Crow and the Butterfly" would honestly be the last choice of any song on the album to be released as a single. I like the song, but I don't think it would cut it as a single. Finally, "Call Me" has the exclusiveness that should only be experienced by purchasing the album. It's such a special song, even though it would prolly out-do anything they've ever released for radio. It should be saved for being the finale to the perfect record, and nothing more. That's my opinion.

I really don't know. I agree with you about TCATB and Call Me, certainly. Not sure on Breaking Inside though, because I was thinking it should be harder... like Sound of Madness. Or Cry For Help, that could slice up the charts.

I'm not totally sure to be honest, but whatever it is, here's hoping it continues the success!

The radio friendly, mainstream image. If they release Sound of Madness, it won't get Mainstream air-time. They will disappear from Mainstream Radio and have to rebuild the success all over again. Maybe not, but it's what I feel will happen. I think they are on a good path. Keep it mainstream. We all know they rock!! But they deserve the success more than any other band out there. This band needs Mainstream audiences. Correction: Mainstream Audiences need them... because right now everyone is brainwashed by shit rap music, fall out boy and Jonas brothers. Get shinedown out there and they can touch alot of people.

The cool thing about Shinedown is that their songs that appeal to the mainstream followers are better than anything in the mainstream. They do not follow a cookie cutter template like most mainstream bands. Breaking inside would be a great follow up.

BREAKING INSIDE....
I Agree...all of the crossover success of "Second Chance," should be capitalized on...to not keep moving ahead with that now would be a HUGE mistake!!! The guys are really making some big headway with "Second Chance," and I think Breaking Inside could even be bigger!!! Cmon guys...go for it!! We want to see you really succeed bigger than ever....BREAKING INSIDE.

Breaking Inside? God no. Call Me? Please no. The Sound of Madness should be a shoe-in. What the Mainstream Rock world wants is heavy Shinedown, then soft Shindeown, than heavy Shinedown. Devour and Save Me were their first Number 1 hits, and I Dare You and Second Chance followed those two and followed up on the success. Breaking Inside is more of a Pop Chart song, which is a no-no. I don't want Shinedown to turn into Nickelback. Cry for Help, I agree would also be good single. But Breaking Inside would do well on the Pop 100, Adult Contemporary and all those other charts before succeeding on the rock charts. And I agree, Call Me should be kept a hidden gem. Here's how I rank the album in 3rd single potential.

Mainstream Rock
1. Sound of Madness
2. Cry for Help
3. What a Shame
4. The Crow and the Butterfly
5. Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide
6. Sin with a Grin
7. Breaking Inside
8. If You Only Knew
9. Call Me

Hot 100
1. Breaking Inside
2. Call Me
3. If You Only Knew
4. The Crow and the Butterfly
5. What a Shame
6. The Sound of Madness
7.Cry for Help
8. Cyanide Sweet Tooth Suicide
9. Sin with a Grin

This brings me to the conclusion that Call Me and If You Only knew wouldn't appear on Rock charts because they aren't really rock songs, and Breaking Inside and Crow and Butterfly would be there, they certainly wouldn't top the rock charts. So what do you want Shinedown's image to be? That's what I think it's all about. If you want them to continue the Rocker image, Sound of Madness. If you want them to be the all around PopRocks, then Call Me/Breaking Inside/If You only Knew. The reason Breaking Inside wouldn't work as the capitalization on the crossover succes of Second Chance is that Second Chance was more of a Rock song. Breaking Inside sprials into Heavy Pop, If a suchj thing existed, or kinda like a country song. I don't see Breaking Inside doing any better on the rock charts then Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback..... and now, as if its some kind of irony, Nickelback's Hard Rock single, Something In Your Motuh, just replaced Second Chance as the Number 1 Rock song. Gotta Be Somebody had no such success....

My words. Releasing a poppier single could give them more exposure for some time, but in the long term I don't think it would do them any good. The pop fans will be disappointed because the album is a lot harder than the single, and the rockers who don't know about Shinedown yet won't get into them because they think all they do is songs like "Second Chance" and "Breaking Inside" (or Crow and Butterfly or If you only knew).
Plus Breaking Inside is for me the least Shinedown-sounding song (I love it anyway though).
As for Call Me, it's not really a single type of song. I agree with everyone else, it should e a goodie you only get when buying the album.

So my vote goes out for Sound of Madness. That one kicks ass, great catchy melody, heaviness, loads of energy, cool lyrics. That's Shinedown Razzer
