Well, I received my CD/t-shirt bundle in the mail literally five minutes ago. Some of you may be happy or unhappy regarding the tracks listed on the "featuring" sticker on the CD. The sticker states the following: "Featuring Devour, Second Chance, and Breaking Inside". Typically, most, if not all of the tracks listed on the CD sticker become singles. So for those of you hating on "Breaking Inside", I'd suggest to learn to like it... just in case. Wink

For those of you complaining about the lack of inspiring hard rockers like off of LAW; I hope you purchased the LE version of SoM... because the bonus tracks are AWESOME, I like them 4789478957894 times better than the original disc's hard rockers.

This album is simply breath-taking.

If they're the singles (Second Chance and Breaking Inside), then that's still okay because they're great songs, but maybe they could have put up a heavier one to showcase how much Shinedown ROCK.

Also, singles are the labels choice, right? I wonder which ones the band would have picked.

Wow, they are really pushing Breaking Inside, aren't they? I'm sorry, but I LOATHE it.

And thanks for the info on the bonus tracks, I'm excited now!

Yeah, the bonus tracks are pretty damn sweet. I'm personally diggin' I Own You, with Son Of Sam coming in close behind it.

Great, Breaking Inside as a single...well, who knows, it might become pretty popular considering it sounds so mainstream.

That's odd, though, because only Devour and Sound of Madness are up on their Myspace now. That would imply that The Sound of Madness would be their next single...

My picks for singles would be What a Shame, and Sound of Madness. Although personally I'd like Sin with a Grin to be heard. And yeah, somebody put the bonus' on youtube!

Wow, now that I've had the chance to listen to the bonus tracks more thoroughly, I have no idea why they weren't placed on the original disc... no idea whatsoever. For the record, "Son of Sam" is most likely the heaviest track Shinedown has recorded thus far in their career. It is the only track that I could agree with the term "metal" being applied to. It is a political track, so for those of you not digging the political messages -- you most likely won't dig this one. "The Energy" is a great track, dedicated to the fans, which is absolutely kickass. And "I Own You" is just a straight up rocker.

I wish the lyrics to the bonus tracks were printed along with the rest of the tracks in the CD booklet though... oh well....

Honestly, I would DEFINITELY count on "Second Chance" becoming a single; the track will hit so many cross-platform stations .. there's no way Atlantic Records would pass up the opportunity to use that track as a CD sale booster. "What a Shame" is definitely a possibility as well. If Atlantic chooses another hard rocker off of the album as a single, it will be Sound of Madness, without a doubt.

Peter you literally made me laugh out loud with that sentence. Yes fan create the demand, but the label will ALWAYS retain control. After all, they are the ones who employ the experts of what works and what doesn't.Roll Eyes Test audiences are used to rate songs long before cd's are released.
