On another forum that I'm on, we're doing what's called a "switch witch." It's pretty much a giant swap type of thing. I think the closest that I can compare it to is a secret Santa, but not for Christmas.

Basically, everyone interested in participating fills out a questionnaire and sends it in. The swap leader(s) then go through and pair people up. Everyone then gets someone else's questionnaire back. After that, you "stalk" the person that you got, get to know them, and based on what you learn, compile a package of things that you think they'd like. There's a catch though. To keep it fun, you shouldn't reveal yourself to your person until the end. Well, you can if you want, but I think it probably ruins the suspense. On the flip side, you don't have to reveal yourself at all!

It's supposed to be something fun, and honestly, the one I'm participating in is a blast! Buying things isn't necessary, at all. If you're crafty, you can make things. Burn some mix CDs. The possibilities are endless! The only thing that you'd actually have to spend anything on is the cost of mailing stuff to your person. If you want to spend money though, that's okay too! There's no specific number of things that you have to send, either. It kind of goes on a Golden Rule type of thing.


The reason I'm suggesting it here is because there are a lot of people on this board, and I know that I don't know everyone. It's a good way to get to know eachother, and provides some fun. Besides, we all love to get mail that's not bills, right?

So what do you think? Would anyone be interested in doing this? It's not going to happen right now because I'd really like to get through the one I'm participating in first. (It ends in November) There's a bit more to it, but I'd like to get everyone's thoughts/opinions before I type any more. This is long enough already!

Yay! It would be super to hear from more people though. 31 people have viewed this and only 4 replied. I would really like to hear from everyone on this. If you think it's a shitty idea, tell me so. There's still plenty of time though, and depending on hwo many people want to participate, I may need to recruit someone to help me with this.

I'm really excited about it though, and REALLY hope that enough people want to do it so that we can!

Anyone else up for this? We can do it with the few that have said they're up for it, but it'll be WAY more fun with more people. C'mon guys! There's still plenty of time before we even think about starting this, but I'd really like to know who's up for it.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd like to hear them too! Everything is welcomed. This could be a really cool thing to do.
