hey im interested in joining a band and/or singing if anyone knows of a band that needs a singer near new jersey who woulndt mind havin a 13yr old lead singer id be happy to try out lol and im learnin guitar too so ill be tryin 2 do that 2!!!

I'm in a need of joining a band myself... so hard finding decent band mates who dont flake out on scheduled practices and are really interested in being in a band....

quote: I know exactly what you mean...I fell into a band ages ago...I love to sing and write lyric/poetry but would never go out there and audition...I love to write and sing but am shy doing it in public...anyways, a friend at a theater I worked at had a room mate who was starting a rock band that had lots of music and no words and I said I got a notebook full of words with no music so let them look at it and see if they can use anything and please do cuz I am not doing anything with it...they loved my words and asked me to sit in on a rehearsal so I thought they meant I would see what they were doing with the music and words and when i got there they told me the lead singer never shows up for rehearsals and since I am there would I like to sit in and I was like, ya, sure, why not? and then they were like do you wanna be in this and I was like ya, sure why not...so I totally fell into it...we were together 6 months and played out twice...once for free and once got paid...We started out rehearsing three times a week every week,, then twice, then once, then canceled rehearsals...like they had other stuff to do or other stuff was happening and it just fell apart in the end...but it was fun while it lasted and am glad for the experience...I have tape recordings of our rehearsals that I would love to be able to clean up...anyways...easy come easy go...it was fun while it lasted...the thing that killed me was we did all originals and they said we should have at least one cover song and I picked tommy james and the shondells I think we're alone now and they never learned the music to it so we never played it out and after we broke up along came the one hit wonder tiffany who made a fortune off the cover i picked that we never did...it makes me sick...I had the right instincts but we didn't do it...timing is everything...being in the right place at the right time doing the right thing...need to stop thinking about that...i could be set for life but never mind....my day will come if I ever hook up with the right people who can do something with my words cuz i have a lot to say...please check out my poetry/lyrics at my postpoems link and comment on individual stuff or at least sign my guestbook and let me know you stopped by and what you thought of what you read and if you have any suggestions...it still kills me that i am not getting it out there and paying some bills too would help....way too long...gotta go...if u do start a band and can use any of my lyric/poetry...it would be cool to get residuals if you hit it big or whatever...it would be nice to know it was getting out there and being used...pam |

well thats cool that you got into it for a while..maybe you guys will start up again sometime...song wrting and what type of music we are playing is going to be real hard for us cause our drummer like hard rock, i like ryan's and the googoo doll type of music, and the other people are mixes of ryan, ashlee, and jessica so idk what we are going to do and none of us is into or good at song writting stuff but im going to try and sit down and try writing if i get time but we arent getting that serious anytime soon...this shall be interesting...
