ok..i need advice on whats better....one of my friends used to get guitar lessons from this lady but the way she teached was she asked him what song he wanted to learn and then taught him that...would i be better off going to her becuase i really want to learn ryan's songs and then after i learn his songs and i dont learn anything from her go to someone else or should i go to someone else who starts little and then learn ryan's songs after that??

I'd get step by step lessons from someone, and then once you have the necessary guitar knowledge, you can just learn Ryan's songs on your own with tab sites and sheet music and maybe Ryan will post them someday.

You should definitly learn the basics first. Trust me, if you just learn Ryan's songs, you will get tired of playing then. Or, Ryan will come out with other songs and you will want to learn them. You need to know how to play guitar. You can practice on the songs yourself. That way you can pick any song you want to learn after you know the general stuff.
