i checked into the reality of the fan club situation. this is the message i received:
it costs $29.99.
they get exclusive content including videos, photos and personal message board as well as a facebook style social area
pre sale ticketing and vip package opportunities (again access to the BEST seats FIRST)
10% off first store purchase
Fan club ONLY contests which are the only way to win exclusive signed items (such as the stuff from Ellen, Video Shoot, Rhapsody Commercial, etc..)
$5.00 coupon to the store
ability to win meet and greet in EVERY city we play (guaranteed to 4 fan club members per night) vast majority of artists charge for fan club. some charge up to $100 and offer MUCH LESS... we have and continue to offer signed items, vip treatment at shows, free merch, discounts, and full complaint department (lol) which in turn seems to get the people who want more than they can get, exactly that, MORE. We are very dedicated to our fans. during the live stuff we did/do we had/have a person strictly assigned to fan club members to take care of them make sure they get what they need, that they can see, they got a special area. all this stuff goes into the cost of the membership. we need to pay the people on the road making sure the fans get above and beyond what they expect. I know you cant please everyone but please rest assured this has been VERY successful thus far. we also offer surprise stuff and continuous contests etc to keep the people engaged and give them MORE than what they think they are paying for.
im really sorry you have to go through this via twitter or anywhere else. Just know that you have THOUSANDS of fan club members and you are only getting a small amount of people complaining. and i can ASSURE you that all the people complaining will be surprised when they see what we are continuing to roll out. People have no patience but the majority of the people will be stoked when they see whats coming up... (again you cant please everyone but we are sure trying)

Thanks for all you do. Guess I was one of the lucky ones with great seats to the show in San Diego. I look forward to all the cool things in store for us in the coming weeks and months.
Keep smiling!

Thank you, Rob, for taking the time out of your day to answer questions and take complaints- especially in light of how nasty some of them were. We do appreciate all that you do, and I think MOST of us know you go above and beyond for us. We love you, now please go have a great day! (((Rob Marisol Tyler))))

Actually Rob I feel sorry that YOU have to go through this on twitter and your board, especially under your current personal circumstances.
I believe you are doing the absolute best you can for everyone, fan club or otherwise!
In my experience (and I've only been to GA venues so seating was never an issue) the show you put on ROCKS regardless of where anyone's seated...

Did you keep trying for tix? I got that message too but kept on going back in and finally got tix. It took about 15 min of trying but it worked out in the end. I've learned that Ticketmaster is best mastered with a lot of patience.

Hey Rob...Reminds me of a song by another great artist...

You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
You can't always get what you want
But if you try sometimes you might find
You get what you need

I got what I needed...the opportunity once again to see you in concert...See you in Atlanta...

From what I see on the site, Im satisfied. I joined because Im a fan. Im happy to be able see upclose pics and stuff like that. This is suppose to be fun.

thank you for taking the time out of your day and posting Rob.

so far this fan club has been pretty cool, which what has been offered. I never expected when I signed up that I was going to be able to do all these contests and such.

And what you guys are doing through streetprop is AMAZING. I was shocked when a poster came to my door that you signed for me...and I didnt win anything at all, streetprop just did it, and I still cant thank you or streetprop enough for that.

The only issue I had so far was getting my preorder bundle late, and even with that when we called my mom received quick help and they've been kind to her every time she's called.

I know it wasnt the the same for everyone every one but even tickets sales were fantastic. The pricing of vip packages made everyone cringe but in the end, fans scored some pretty great seats.

I have hope things will keep on improving, and so far they mostly have. thanks again Smiler

Thank you, Rob, for your concern. For taking your precious time to find out the "real deal" for yourself - not many would have done that. And you have so much "on your plate" now - you are a treasure.

BTW - I'm very happy with my tickets.

Thank you, Rob, for sharing your music and your Self with the World - it REALLY needs it!!!

I'd consider myself a pretty big fan, even traveling from Maine to CA last summer for MB20. I wasn't looking for front row at the Mohegan. I've had Sec. 5 Row A there and those were amazing. I would have loved those, but that's not what I got....

I'm not upset w/ you, Rob, but I was disappointed w/ my presale experience for the Mohegan Sun. I got NO SEATS AVAILABLE for nearly an hour and 15mins. (Admittedly, I threw back Sec. 15 at 10:00 on the nose.) Finally I was given Sec. 23, Row T, basically the back of the house. I took them b/c I want to go to the show and am unavailable for the public sale Sat. (Jonas Brothers concert in Boston w/ my 12 year old daughter!) I'll be w/ my 3 best friends, traveling 10+ hours to be there and I know the show will be amazing from any seat, but I would have liked to have been on the floor somewhere in the first 10-14 rows...

Enough bitching...Thanks for checking into the FC situation for us. We know you have much more important things on your plate. I'll just cross my fingers for winning that M & G! Wink

Hey Rob,

sorry you have to deal with this. Though I caved and bought packages out of frustration, it was my choice.

You talked about free M&G on twitter and I am sorry you seem to have been pressured into these. Any other tour I would jump up and down about this opportunity but think you should really spend your time with Tyler and not us. I bought a M&G before I knew about him and feel bad about it.

"Fix" the fanclub issues people have another time.

Just my opinion.
