Don't appoint Janet Napolitano Secretary of Homeland Security. As much as I would like her to no longer be governor of Arizona, putting her at that post would be a joke.

I voted for her when she first ran, did not vote for her re-election.

Just wanted to vent. I don't think Obama reads this board.

Honestly, I don't know much about Janet Napolitano, except that she is the Governor of Arizona and I'd love some local insight.

Jaycee,if you don't mind, what has she done that bothers you? Is it specific choices she's made and how do you expect it to reflect back on the Homeland Security position?

I'd ask my mother in-law about her too, she lives in Green Valley, but my mom-inlaw drives me crazy.

I find illegal immigration to have a bit to do with homeland security. She has fought with our sheriff, taken away funding, blasted him, all because he is the only one who seems to be doing anything about illegals. He's a loud mouth, camera hog, and absolutely not PC about getting the job done, but he does do it. He was up for re-election this month and won overwhelmingly, so I think the people of this state stand by him more than our governor.

I had very high hopes for her the first time around, but this term it seems she's gotten lazy and lenient.

Sounds like she's a perfect fit for the incoming administration which will likely bend over backwards in helping people who are in the country ILLEGALLY to stay here. After all, that would add up to how many more millions of votes 4 years from now?

Thank you so much for the information on her, I hadn't found much online. But, I really hadn't worked very hard to find out about her yet.

Obama's picks and nominations are signs of someone who really has no clue about what to do in running the country, so he's chosen to go in the direction of rule by committee.

He also appears to be making picks which could be construed as appeasing opposition from with Democrat ranks, specifically the Clinton machine.

Rahm Emanuel, senior advisor under Bill Clinton, now Chief of Staff.

Gregory Craig, who led Clinton's impeachment defense, now White House counsel.

Eric Holder, Deputy Attorney General under Clinton, has been offered the position of Attorney General.

Hope? I hope this is a bad dream.

Is this referring to my post? I hope not, because I certainly am not 'quick to judge' Janet Napolitano. She has been governor here for 6 years and I am familiar with her. She'd be a rotten choice.

Agreed. Obama can do no right in some people's minds. He isn't even President yet and he's accused of helping illegal aliens who are HERE due to Bush's failures. But it's all Obama's fault. I see. Hannity is calling it the "Obama Recession". LOL. The guy is two months away from actually being President but Hannity wants to pin Bush's economic failures on him. And Obama should pick total outsiders for his team because we all saw how qualified those "outsiders" like Sarah Palin are. So, Obama should fill his cabinet with unqualified people who don't know how to get anything done in Washington. Cuz we need outsiders, not insiders. In my book, Obama is putting together an excellent team. He's far ahead of most Presidents-elect in even naming his team. This guy has some organizational skills! Let's give the guy a chance and see what his team DOES when the get in there on January 20th. Can't come soon enough! Go Obama!
