We are trying to organize a food drive for the nyc shows. Times are hard for a lot of people and the holidays are coming up which makes things even harder. I saw that there are a lot of gders going to the shows in NYC. My question is- if you are going, can you commit to bring 2 or 3 cans of food to the show on friday night? It would be wonderful if we could pull together and do this in honor of Rob and Mari's wonderful spirit of helping others. I have a truck from City Harvest lined up to take the food, but we need a minimum of 50-100 lbs. I cannot guarantee that unless I know people are definately going to bring some food. If you know you can absolutely bring a few cans, please post in here and let me know. I need to know by this friday. If there's not going to be enough, I have to call and cancel the truck.

Thanks. Hard to say how many cans because it depends on how big/heavy. I'm guessing small to medium size cans of fruit or veggies would be between 1/3 -1/2 lb each so I'm thinking ballpark at least 200-250 cans of food. They will also take cereal, oatmeal, basically anything non-perishable. I'm coming into the city by train on wed so I'm going to put a bunch of cans in my suitcase. I'm going to ask one of Rob's security guys (jason or ed) if they can have Rob make an announcement at the show on thurs because there are probably a lot of non-gders that will be there fri as well.

What a great idea! I'll definitely bring some cans of food. I agree about contacting PLJ...Race will for sure mention it on the air.
