It was so much fun though. I have never done anything like that before in my life. I've never even voted before. May of this year at the primaries was the first time I've ever voted at all. I kinda got sucked into the middle of this campaign cause of a web site I worked on all summer but it's been so much fun. Thursday was awesome and I'm so glad it was a nice sunny day cause Friday and today have been rainy and cold.

Hi all hope everyone is doing ok

I've been pulling my hair out as my lovely computer decided to have a complete nervous breakdown and lost absolutely everything.
That was followed by me having a nervous breakdown and the computer nearly being thrown out of the nearest window LOL

I was more upset about over 3200 Johnny pics disappearing and my programs including my paint shop pro and all it's brushes etc, it's taking days to get it kind of back to some sort of normality.
Isn't modern technology wonderful?

So now i have my paint shop pro back i had to make something just to check it worked properly ( like i need an excuse LOL)

EEEEEEK! Deb I hope you got that computer back together. I've gone through that before. It is not fun. Especially when you mountains of info and documents (that are important) on the PC. I try my hardest to save everything to a CD right when I change something or download something (Especially the websites I do, can't loose those or I'm in a heap big lot of trouble).

It's took me about a week to get it all back to some sort of normality thanks, i was lucky as i have a computer upstairs that had alot of stuff on it that i could transfer with my usb memory stick.

I've lost some Johnny pictures etc but nothing that i can't try to find again i've recovered 3227 Johnny pictures so far only missing about 100 LOL

I've lost my powerdvd 7 program but i'm not too worried as my computer upstairs has an older version of it and to be honest i use that one more its better for screen capping etc.

It was just the inconvience of it and not knowing why it had it's little nervous breakdown LOL

At least you got most of your Johnny pictures back. That a plus hehe.

Sometimes technology is our friend and sometimes it's our headache lol.

Yes modern techology is wonderful when it works properly and a right royal pain in the arse when it doesn't LOL

It was a close call as it was nearly a case of either this or this
It also picked a bad day to go on the blink as i was getting a little stressed out about having to meet my soon to be ex-hubby and the mortgage adviser.
But thank god it's working ok now

So glad you didn't have to resort to either of those methods lol. I've felt like that some times as well. One time my PC was being slow and I flicked the monitor with my fingernail and all the electric in the house went off. Turns out a man ran his truck into an electrical pole just as I flicked the screen lol.

I always panic when my computer goes crazy. I don't know why cause I have all my important files on Cd but I still panic.

totally OT from mr. depp, but i believe the core of us here would agree that this is more of a "chat" thread for JD fans as much as it is a JD thread - yes?

on that note, i have to say that i caught a snippet of something on the 10 o'clock news and had to go look up more info online.

apparently, a couple of crazy skinhead/neonazi guys in TN are in jail now and court papers say they had planned not only to assassinate obama, but also to kill hundreds at a "unnamed high school" that has a predominantly black student body. these guys are from west TN and are in jail in the town where i lived a few years ago, the town where I went to high school - to the largest and predominantly black high school in the area. yeah, there is no school name mentioned in the court papers that were made public, but i have a pretty darn good idea it would have been "my" high school - AND the high school my daughter would be attending had we not moved here.

all the more reason to be thankful to have found not only a lovely house where we are now, but to have settled in here and made it our "home" ... i'm still trying to absorb the news story.

WOW that's scary. Thank goodness you ladies are not still there and hopefully everyone in that area will remain safe.

It still amazes me how racist this country is. I mean I don't see what the big deal is about race. I guess it was the way I was raised or something but I don't care what color you are. It's what's on the inside that counts. It was amazing on Thursday to see so many different races come to the Obama rally. Just in the little section we were in there was a Indian family, an African American family and us. It just blows my mind that this country can still be so racist.

jenn, a lot of it, i believe, comes from one generation passing it down to another. in the neighborhood we used to live in, we were one of a small handful of white families. i have always taught tara that skin color makes no different, that god made us all the same inside no matter what color skin on the outside. there were lots of kids, though, that would call her "white girl" in a mean tone of voice, like it was a bad thing. that made me so sad, because where else is a child going to get that except from parents and grandparents. i am fairly certain there will always be those who have the cowardly opinion that different is bad. when you focus on difference, you have division - when you focus on the things we all have in common, you have unity. i don't know what it is so difficult for some people to realize that.

I have to agree. I was always taught that it didn't matter what color your skin was. It only mattered what was on the inside. Which was a really hard thing to teach a child in this area. I live in a very KKK oriented area. In fact I'm surprised Obama even got off the bus in this county let alone this ity bity town. I told my mom that he has to be an awfully brave man to get off the bus in this county. In fact the former "Grand Dragon" of the KKK lives down the street and around the corner from me. Shawn has even had talks with his homeowners insurance company about what if someone gets pissed at Obama and then torches his house because of it's connection.

i have to tell you this - i have heard quite a few die-hard republicans all but give up the race in the last day or so. i think they can see that their ticket is sinking fast.

i think it will just do so much for our international relations to have a leader who truly represents change and progress and just modern times. it is unfortunate that we as a country have such groups that are still stuck in the dark ages, but to have a leader who represents all of the good citizens, of all skin color, of all beliefs, will just put us on a much more level field with the rest of the world. ya know?
i hope the majority feels the same and makes it clear on the ballots next week!

There are a lot of Rep. in Indiana that are voting Dem. this year as well. A lot of them would have never thought of voting Dem. and never have voted Dem. but they are this year.
