Just got back from Boston a few hours ago, and wanted to post my review and experiences of the evening. My boyfriend and I left for Boston on Sun morning and had an awesome day of sightseeing. We saw all of the historical sites, walked around Public Gardens and Boston Commons, Fanuiell Hall, all over the Aquarium. We took a boat ride down the Charles River. the weather was absolutely Gorgeous all 3 days. We stayed at a little hotel that was very quaint and had almost a "British"
feel.

Monday the day of the concert, we wanted to stay closer to the hotel which was a block away from the Wang Theater. So we walked through Public Gardens, and up Commonwealth, Newburry, and Beacon St. My boyfriend decided at 11am he wanted a beer at cheers, LOL which prob wasn'
t the smartest idea for him. I got back in time to get ready for the meet & greet.

We had to meet Chris from the fanclub, and it was 5 fanclub members, I only knew Mare, the other lady and her boy and another guy I don'
t think comes here. There were maybe 15 radio station winners as well. They walked us around the building and into a room. Chris tried to keep the fanclub members to the side to go last. But Rob made it through half then bounced into the corner and got us. When he got to me, I dont think he remembered me at first but I said I am Dawn (longsgirl) from the forum, he remembered. I had him sign a pic that I had taken with him last year. He signed Dawn So much love and his name. he gave me a big hug, and I told him how sorry I was to hear about Tyler. we talked about a few things cd/tour related then had a pic taken. It seemed to go so fast, but it was a great moment. After the meet & greet Mare and her friend Carol and I went to get my boyfriend as he was still passed out. We went to get something to eat at Rock Bottom. I made a sign asking Rob if he would please sing acoustic wonderful for Dawn (longsgirl). I meant to ask him at meet & greet but completely forgot.

I went into the show and my boyfriend went back to hotel, he is not a fan and did not want to go. I had 3rd row pit but it was actually 2nd row, there was no first row in that section. I did not know anyone around me or so I thought, But Doug sat a few rows behind me. The couple next to me didnt talk much, but I started talking to them and they were nice but said they never saw Rob they just go to a few random shows every year. During the show a lot of people in my section sat atleast half or all the time. At times I felt I was the only one standing the whole time. Carolina opened. after they played Marc came out to the merchandise table and Mare and I hung with him for a bit. One Republic then came o, they were both amazing.

Then Rob! He opened with Fire on the Mountian. He was amazing. I know he was going through a ough time but he didnt show it at all. he was so full of energy and spot on. He did Little Wonders dedicated to Tyler, and told lots of stories about the meaning of the songs. After seeing Cradelsong Live, I fell in love with the cd even more. So much I listened to them both the whole 5 hrs home today. My boyfriend was less than thrilled. He gave my sectiona lot of attention and caught eye contact with me several times. The 1 time he came over and sang and caught eye contact with me, I held my sign up for a brief minute, and he smiled and nodded yes while singing, and I smiled and lipped Thank You. When they did acoustic wonderful it was at the encore. they all went off, and Rob and Matt came back out with their guitars. They played some chords and struggled with it, Rob laughed and said how professional is this learning this as were on stage. My heart melted hearing this song. Rob sang acoustic Ever the Same and I almost cried. Marc threw 2 pics at me during the show. Rob had his son Maison come on stage with his friend throw pics to the audience, but none came my way. I danced and sang so hard, and had 1 of the best nights of my life. I really needed this. Some of you know I have been going through a rough time with some medical problems right now, and have been finding it hard to smile or a reason to keep going some days. This is what I needed. I felt alive and that Life was GREAT, and for that moment I was fineSmiler.

After the show I wondered to the buses and found a group of people there. I talked to Doug and met sweetmelissa. Melissa, it was great meeting you last night! We waited for awhile about an hr. Marc came out and was talking to me for a bit. Then Rob came out. he signed things but there wasnt time for pics. When he got to me, I had bought a poster, the 1 with him holding the mic stand over his head, so I had him sign that. he said Hi Dawn, and while he signed, I said Rob thank you for singing acoustic Wonderful for me, it was great. Then I said I also wanted to thank you for an amazing show, I havent had this much fun in a long time. He gave me a big hug. I am hoping Doug and Melissa captured the moment. He said Bye sweetheart thank you for coming. My boyfriend couldnt believe I didnt get back to the hotel until 1 am.

We woke up this morning to him havign the flu, so i had to drive him 5 hrs home while he was sick. Poor guy.

Sorry this was so long, just so many moments to capture last night and wanted to share them with you all.

Yeah, I wanted to say something but I always feel awkward. It's always fun to see people from the board though. I was sitting at the table behind you. I had on the green "Matchbox Twenty is Your Friend" shirt at the first table when you walk in.

The show was awesome and I'm sad it's over!

Thanks for your news Dawn. It's important to write it all down while you can still remember everything fresh in your mind. Glad you had a terrific time - and I bet Rob really enjoyed meeting up with his fanclub family who love him.

aw, would have been at the buses with you, but we had to catch the T back to somerville. As it is we got home at 1:30 am, and we both had to work on Tuesday (but could go in later than 8).

What a great place to see a show, huh? Loved that he brought Maison on stage. I was secretly hoping he'd bring Marisol on stage to sing Cradlesong...LOVE her voice.
