Something to ponder indeed. I think I'll send this to my neighbor who keeps sending me anti-Obama crap.

Thanks for stopping by Rob, only a few short days of campaigning and then whatever will be, will be.

aside from all that, great job of SUNNY last night. I laughed my ass off.

So true!

All very good points. Aside from the education, if those things were true about Obama, I would still vote for him! I still think he is the best man for the job.

Brilliant points, sir. Thanks for laying it all out there like that... it provides such stark contrast between the candidates.

I've been wondering for a few weeks how the Republican party determined Sen. McCain to be the best man for the job, and some of the facts on your list I didn't even know about.

Thanks again for expressing your beliefs so passionately and eloquently.

Have a wonderful time tomorrow night -- I hope you come back here and let us know how it went! Smiler

Thanks so much for posting these thoughts!!! Unfortunately here in the South, things are about race so much of the time. What a great "rebuttal".

Best wishes for a great gig tomorrow -

exactly right, Rob. It's a sad testament to the state of race relations in this country. I personally know several people who are not voting for Obama because of his race, and that makes me want to tear my hair out and sob uncontrollably (before beating them upside the head).

I realize obviously that race is not the reason why most people support McCain, but honestly...look at the facts people. How can you support a man who chooses Sarah Palin as his running mate? That is the most irresponsible and reckless choice he could have made. Why she doesn't scare more people scares ME! She's ridiculous! And a heartbeat away from the Presidency. And she has no clue what her job as VP would be. I could go on. And on. She's awful.

You're absolutely right, Rob, education isn't everything. Not speaking of either Obama or McCain or anyone in particular - you can attend the best schools and graduate at the top of your class and have all sorts of professional notations after your name and still be an absolute fucking idiot.

I heard on the Today Show not too long ago that everyone believes race will play a factor in this election. They said people will be very gung ho for Barack Obama, but a large number of them, once they actually get into the voting booth, will let race factor in even if it hasn't up to that point. I think bringing so much attention to the "race" of Senator Obama (either in a positive or negative way) does a great disservice to him and only continues that frame of mind.

I won't be voting for Barack Obama not because of the color of his skin, but because I don't believe he will bring the changes this country needs. McCain probably won't either, but if I don't vote then I can't bitch about things later. And that's not just why I'm voting. I do believe Obama will bring about change, but it's not going to be the change he's promising nor will it be change the large majority of Americans will want.

Can we hope for a Rob Thomas/Willie Nelson ticket in 2012? Wink

What if McCain had associated with communists and terrorists?

What if Michelle Obama was a special needs teacher and worked with Halo Trust?

What if Obama had served in the U.S. military at all?

McCain was completely exonerated in the Keating 5, along with Senator John Glenn.

And damn all people who have ever had a drug problem.
