 Hello, fellow ROB lovers . i am curious to know what is wrong with marisol ? i seen rob on vh-1 saying ever the same is about her being ill . i seen her in the clips on the movie side of his cd and she looks so much differant . At first i though baby maybe ?? but then with the vh1 interview and the song about dieing i am wondering WHATS UP WITH MARISOL ???Any info would be nice . Best of wishes to Rob and Marisol . |

I don't know how helpful I can be. But from what I know....while Rob was recording and writting "Something To Be" Mari was really sick...an auto-immune disease that (according to an interview) only 1% of 1% of the population has or gets. So she was really sick and Rob loving her like he does was inspired to write songs that ended up being about her and how he'd always be the for her no matter what and even in death. Thats what I know...or what I've heard. Hope it helps

Although Rob has talked about her illness, he has never been too specific. We all hope that her condition continues to improve.

i do think that she is much better now, and i hope so. I am not really sure what was wrong with her but she was very ill. she was on a lot of seroids that caused her to look different for awhile. that is why she looked a little different on the dvd. still very beautiful I might add. even her looking her worst, is still beautiful. i know that rob did write ever the same about her being ill and how he is there for her no matter what and will always be and love her. i also know that now comes the night is about facing dealth, but i am not sure it has any thing to do with mari being sick. i do think he had their love in mind, how they love each other so much and want to be there for each other when that time comes. I hate to comment too much, b/c i am only guessing and telling what i believe to be true. i don't want to be gossiping or spreading rumors. i just hope that she is much better now and thank rob for being so wonderful to her during her sickness. get well mari! we love you too you know.

I saw her in person at the Ventura concert and she looks amazing now. I think she is all better. No more puffiness from the steriods.

Mari was ill for approx. 2 years. Also he stated a little while back (around Sept. I believe) that she was taking steroids that made her feel and look different, so maybe that's when they did some of the footage. If you go to VH1.com, Rob's site, where he talks a little about each song on Something...to Be, he says this about Ever The Same: "Ever The Same" While we were making this record we found out that my wife was sick - she had a problem with her immune system. It's something we were dealing with the whole time we were making this album. I can't imagine it took much longer to write this song than it took to play it. Jeff Trot from Sheryl Crow's band plays the slide guitar on there and he did just a really beautiful job on there. Marisol has an autho-immune diease that is much like Lupa, a form of diease that destroys the own body. During "Something to Be", Marisol was extrememly sick. One night she fell asleep in Rob's lap crying, and that's where the song "Ever the Same" came from. If you listen to the lyrics, it's exactly right on. For example: "You were holding me like someone broken, and I couldn't tell you but I'm telling you now...just let me hold you while you're falling apart, just let me hold and we'll both fall down.." Marisol is much better now. She's beating out the disease

She has lupus.
My wife has it too. His song "her diamonds" hits home quite a bit. but yea. they treat it with steroids amongst other meds. there is no cure, just treatment. |
