Hi everybody!

I'm new here and maybe the only one(?) from Eastern Europe. My name is Brigi, I write You from the nice city of Budapest, Hungary.
I'm an old fan from MATCHBOX TWENTY, I like their music since I've first seen IF YOU'RE GONE on MTV ages ago... First I liked their sounds, because I could hardly understand the lyrics... (Sorry if I make mistakes, my english is not the best yet, but I try)I was always a hard-working reader of this message boards. It took some time (months) to dare to register here...
So I'm just saying hello to everyone!

Let me tell you some things about me and MATCHBOX TWENTY! Thanks!

I bought MAD SEASON in 2001 (after seeing the video) and liked it. Especially the nice lyrical songs IF YOU'RE GONE, REST STOP, BED OF LIES...it was easy to find a song of them that fits my mood... Soon I got MORE THEN YOU THINK YOU ARE and I really loved it, because there was more rock and power. I adore songs like COULD I BE YOU, FEEL, SOUL, YOU'RE SO REAL and SO SAD SO LONELY. (I wonder what their inspiration was...) And there was such amazing ballads like THE DIFFERENCE and HAND ME DOWN... Sometimes I feel I could cry while listening this chorus...
Later I found out, there's a debut album, YOURSELF OR SOMEONE LIKE YOU, so I made everything to get it, so I got it (was not easy)! Never thought that rock music could be so professional and hot-tempered at the same time. Never knew that guitar music could be so HOT untill I heard 3 AM. And the lyrics, whoa! "I don't know if I've ever been good enough I'm a little bit rusty..." "Reach down your hand in your pocket pull out some hope for me..." Really touched me! It was worth to learn English for these lines...! Of course I have EXILE ON MAINSTREAM, and I like their new sound and songs, but still miss their old roughness, Paul's playing on the drums and Rob's old southern accent ("rrrainmaker...")

Unfortunately Hungary is not the place they ever want to make some gigs, I know, and I never had opportunity (and enough money) to travel and see the band live. So I would thank to everybody, to the lucky ones, who share concert and other videos and experiences with some daydreamers like me...

I KNOW it's a message board for Rob Thomas fans, so I must say, I am a Rob Thomas fan, too. I think he's a born musician, an awesome performer, a talented and productive songwriter, a separated chapter in the history of music. I feel lucky to know his work and try to make my friedns to listen to his and MATCHBOX's music. I love his other works, Mick Jagger's VISIONS OF PARADISE and Santana's SMOOTH so much, too. I hope Rob will never be out of inspiration, so he could write songs for a long time. And because I'm a huge MATCHBOX TWENTY fan, I hope the guys will never break up and will make many new records and shows so we fans can listening and talk about... And finally I hope that you, old fans and members are not tired of readig my message... and maybe post some comments...

Have a nice day, or night! Here's almost 3 am Smiler

Greetings and Welcome!

I know we have at least one other board member from Hungary...

I think your English is VERY good.

You described well your love of the talent, lyrics and music of Rob and Matchbox Twenty.

You have come to the right place!

Let us know if there is anything we can do to help you use the board.

Short introduction of myself: My name is Nedra. I'm the mother of three sons and a jewelry designer. I've been a Matchbox fan since I first heard Long Day in the Fall of 1996.

Looking forward to getting to know you better...

Enjoy!

Big Grin

Thanks for your letter and your help, Nedra. I think I will slowly but surely learn to use this board. My friends aren't great MATCHBOX fans at all, so I can hardly wait to talk to people (what people, fans!) about my beloved band!
About me: I'm a doctor and work a lot in a clinic, and listen to music all day (not just MATCHBOX TWENTY). It seems to me as if my patients like it... and in my short free time I work in a children's home, too.

In a little while I'll back with a long list of questions to you, old GD'ers!

Hi Brigi. Welcome to the board. My name is Kelle and I'm from Melbourne, Australia.

In two days I get to see my first ever Matchbox concert! I'm taking my 10 year old daughter with me. She knows all the songs so I think she'll have a great time.

Enjoy your stay!

By the way, your English is great!

Hey Caroline! Hey Rita! Hey Kelle! Hey GD'ers!

It seems to me as if everybody gets its MATCHBOX-portion this season! ENJOY IT!!!
So sad that I live so far away fom the gigs...I only can hope that the guys will not break up for long-long time, so even I can see them live next time! They need more fans from this old continent to start a real European tour!

::runs out to convert::

Meanwhile... I watch your pics and videos from the shows...
