thankies cause my teacher isn't really the helpinh type.....i need help with Expansionism and World War 1. Do you have any ideas in which can help me study better

the best thing I can tell you is to read the chapter and answer the questions at the end of the chapter if you just tryna study..

What do you need to know about them? When I took history I would just read it and try to understand what was going on. Like I was being nosey about a fight or somethin that happened last week. Basically don't think of it as school work, and it's a little more interesting. From what I can recall expansionism... just like the word sounds is expanding. The use of factories in America was growing and we needed countries to sell our manufactured products to. We also need countries to buy raw goods from. So in short we were making bonds with other countries through business... how each country could benefit from eachother.

I’ll try to help…… I’ll give u a brief description of world war 1 and how America got involved… u probably already learning this in class though

Well World War 1 started in 1914 and lasted till 1918. It started with the assasination of the duke of Austria-hungry by some Serbian dude. Anyway when Austria-hungry retaliated a lot of European countries started to join the war, taking different sides. Well Germany was defending Austria-hungry and other countries such as France, and the UK were defending Serbia. The Americans role at first was just peace-keepers, but then the Germans attacked an English ship that had a lot of Americans citizens so America declared war on Germany and they started to join the war around late 1917 I think. The US didn’t have a lot of soldiers so the government brought about conscription (the draft) and men I think ages 21-30 were forced to go to war. However they weren’t part of any alliances such as the other European countries they went to war “independently” even though they had allies such as the British

But if you want to know about expansionism try researching “manifest destiny.” Manifest destiny describes what the Americans thought was their right from God to occupy all the land between the atlantic and the pacific. This is how they now occupy the land of America and even tried to occupy Canada. However this happened around the 1800’s and not the same time as world war 1 which was in the 1914. But please look this stuff up properly because it’s a while since I took American history
