I will be posting some poems I've been writing for my poetry writing workshop class. enjoy and please leave me feedback thanks for your time

This one is just a random one I did for my poetry packet that I turned in today

Decorations

The holidays are coming
But you’ve gone away
We saved the final task
Decorating the tree
For you
Even though you might be late
Coming home again
This year
We want to share the decorations with you

You are always decorated
With the shiny glitter
To that platinum grill
You love to sport
This party
No need for decorations
Those decorations will be on the floor
Scattered like ornaments
On the tree

We start by kissing under the mistletoe
Where your full pink tongue
Is welcomed into my mouth
Your hands are surveying my curves
For a hiding spot
They move lower and lower
Until they reach their destination

What great time
The oven goes off
Meaning its time for dinner
You know what you’re dessert is going to be
Something with caramel whipped cream and cherries
That pop and ooze in your mouth every time you
Get to that “special” place
You serve me everyway you can
“He can’t compete” with you
In anyway
“Sleep Wit Me” tonight
If time allows it
Or we can make it a
“Late Night Special”
I hope I don’t need to
“Make It Like It Was”
With my man afterwards

The decorations are set out
We may have to hold off
Though because
The kids are home
You kiss them
And kiss me once again
Just an innocent civil kiss
Decorating the tree is like
The decorations on your body

Shy Misery

Unknown to you
By voice
Yet known possibly by
Face
Simple gestures
Might make up for
Lost words
In conversations
Two meetings
Same outcome
Yet my respect
Love and devotion
To you
Tends for me not to
“Let you go”
And we may have a year different in age
But yet I still remain an “86 baby
So I’ll let you give me something special
And let you take me to another level”
That’s once we get to know each other
Better
Yet my mouth never moves
To say a word
Or smile
My legs never move
Towards you
This shy misery
Has to end someday

Lost & Found

Several miles apart
Florida and California
Sit on different sides
Of the country
We only get one chance
To see each other
That’s when you’re on tour
Doing a concert performing your hit songs
From your albums
You might not be “shon’in”
On the road but yet
You’re still a “bedroom beast”
To be reckoned with

You may “Cuddle Up” with a few
Superstars
Here and there while on the road
Yet we still won’t be
“Knockin’ Boots” with each other
The “4 Play” has to be on lock though
If we do hit the sheets down the line
For proof that you
“Get that body wet then lick ‘em down”
No need for you
“Writing another letter got my name across
the top for you baby SlickADela”

Miles keep us apart from one another
Yet we find each other
At meet and greets
Or in the front row at a concert
Where you might grab my hand
And rap a couple bars for me
Maybe even sing something to me

On day you may say
“Marry me” while you’re down on your knees
No surprises needed
Just to see your smiling face is enough
This game of hide and seek
We play every year
Is fun because
One of us is always lost
And the other one is seeking
Until the other is found

Now this poem was done for one of my homework assignments where we had to write an ode (praise) poem about/to someone

Ode to SlickADelaPhantè

No other member stands out
As much as he does
One-fourth of the group
Pretty Ricky
First to extend a hand to
Greet
Embrace someone into a hug
Humble and sweet
Welcoming
To each and every person
He meets
With a smile
That makes
Everything so right

His dreads
That get longer each
Time you see him
(That make you might want to pull or just
Touch them)
Eyes
That you will get lost in
Looking at him
Lips
With one swipe of his
Full pink tongue
To moisten them
The grill he
Seems to wear
Throughout everything he does

A single meeting
Will make you
Feel like you’ve
Known him all
Your life
His sign
Gemini
Fits him so well
He just has
This feeling about him
That makes you want
To know more about
Him

A personality
That seems
To have every
Person he meets
Continue to talk about
Him for years to come
Just makes him even more
Lovable
Every superstar (fan)
That he meets
Has stories to tell
From how he
Made them feel
To how he smelled
That is something
Out of this world
The aroma of his cologne
Sticks with a person
After they hug him

He can catch a person off guard
With his kisses
He seems to have this
Way of sneaking in
For a kiss
When you least expect it to come
A sweetheart
Is what he is
Never stepping out
Before the last
Photo is taken
Or autograph is
Signed
Each photo lasts
Every superstar (fan)
Until the next chance
To get up close and personal
With SlickADela

Extending his hand for you
To shake
Then slowly embraces you into a
Hug
You get lost in his whole manner
Yet once he speaks
It feels as if you’ve known
Him for your whole life

Once he’s out of the spotlight
He goes into another
Phase of his life
That remains somewhat out
Of the limelight
He has always been
Humble sweet and well mannered
Through his career
Just staying true
Like his superstars do for him

This poem was written for my dramatic monologue assignment a few weeks ago.

Superstar & Groupie

“Why was I picked?”
Repercussions just cause
Me to remember
His dreads
That could have been pulled
Through a sexual encounter
His voice
As he talked to me
About everything
As he tried to get to know me
His six-pack
I wanted to
Rub, squeeze
Or just touch
If he let me
Another visual set
Aside by someone
Unfamiliar sitting
On the couch
With them
A new accent
From somewhere in the north
But his voice
Still rings in my head
As he sang a sweet lullaby
As I slowly drifted off to sleep
Or wanted to

He was my groupie
For that one night
Sharing his bed
Since there were four
Sharing one
Hotel room
I rested my head
On his chest
Running my fingers over
His tattoo
That represents
His membership
To the group
He was a member of
Or tracing over it on his arm
That was beneath me
As he whispers
“Goodnight”
In my ear
As I lie awake
For a few lingering minutes
As his rhythmic breathing
Slowly lulls me to sleep

The morning after
I am awaken
By him softly shaking me
“Shorty, it’s time to go”
He says softly in my ear
I slowly stretch my arms
As he heads into the bathroom
I reminisce about the events
Of the night before
No sex
(Though it is embedded deep in his lyrics)
Sex wasn’t even on his mind
Last night
We chilled and then went to bed
He came out the bathroom
Smiling signaling for me
To hit the shower

As I entered the bathroom
Where I inspected the counter
And found a note
One phrase written on
A half sheet of paper
“Thanks for the night”
That stuck in my head
As the water hit me
It seemed longer
Than five minutes
I was dressed
Following him out of the room
To the elevator
No words spoken
The silence
Didn’t make up for
Memories that would
Last until the next time we met
Up at a concert or
Meet and greet
We exchanged numbers
Then headed in opposite directions
Him to his tour bus
And I headed to my car.

another dramatic monologue

The Unexpected
I think about it
All the
What Ifs
That could have
Happened
If I didn’t
Take the route
I did in school
Or I took as
To become
The person
I am today

Sitting around
In this room
With so many
Highly educated
People
Telling me
What to do?
What to wear?
They have all the control
Yet
I obtain all the
Money

I have all the fame
Yet I haven’t changed
I came from the bottom
Then gained the fame
The money
I don’t know what
Else I could make of what I’ve
Become over the what
Several hard working years
To perfect
A growing talent
That festered within me from a young age

Pre-teens
Are the ones that
Look up to me
As a role model
Because of this fame
I have acquired over
Time
Time is what it took for me to become
The man I am now

A child of my own
That I have to attempt
To raise
By juggling my career
As an entertainer
Who surpluses thousands
During the process of
A single album
From writing and
Producing

The adoration
And love
I receive from
My superstars
Is all the acknowledgement
I need to continue what
I do to make
Ends meet for my
Family and myself
