Chapter Five – The Meeting.

~*AT THE MALL*~

Krysteena-“Is there any store you wanna go to in particular?”
Ariana-“No.”
Krysteena-“Well, let’s go to Man Alive then.”
Ariana-“Aiight.”

We go to Man Alive. I bought an outfit and a matching purse. Krysteena bought three shirts and a purse. We decided to go to Foot Locker next. While we were walking we passed two dudes posted by Underground Station. When we past them a little we heard one of them yell out.

M/V-“Ay blue.”
Krysteena-“Girl, he’s talking to you.”
Ariana-“No he’s not.”
Krysteena-“Yes he is. You’re the only girl wearing blue around here.”
Ariana-“That doesn’t meant he’s talking to me.”
M/V-“Blue!”

Krysteena and I both turned around and saw that he and his friend were looking in our direction.

Krysteena-“Told you.”
M/V-“Ay come here.”
Ariana-“Me?” I asked as I pointed to myself.
M/V-“Yeah. Come here.”

Krysteena dragged me over to them. I didn’t really wanna go. I’m a little shy when it comes to boys I don’t know.

M/V-“Wassup ma? I’m Dreux.”
Ariana-“I’m Ariana.”
Dreux-“You sexy as hell,” he said to me as he licked his lips.
Ariana-“Thank you,” I responded while blushing.
Dreux-“So can I get your number though?”
Ariana-“Um, no.”
Dreux-“Why not?”
Ariana-“Because I don’t know my phone number.”
Dreux-“If you don’t want me to have it you can just say so.”
Ariana-“No, I’m serious. I honestly do not know my phone number. I just moved here, I don’t even know what neighborhood I live in.”
Dreux-“Well I know you gotta have a cell phone.”
Ariana-“Yeah, but I’m from Atlanta and I got a pre paid so I don’t want to pay that long distance.”
Dreux-“I can understand that. How about I just give you my number and when you find all that out you call me.”
Ariana-“Ok.”
Dreux-“Do you have your phone with you?”
Ariana-“No, I didn’t think I would need it. Do you have a pen?”
Dreux-“How many niggas you know that carry pens around with ‘em?
Ariana-“You’ll never know. You could’ve had one.”
Dreux-“ Well, I guess I’ll just be seeing you around then.”
Ariana-“Yeah, I guess so.”
Dreux-“Aiight. It’s on.”

We proceeded to Foot Locker while Dreux and his friend remained posted by Underground Station.

Krysteena-“Girl he was too cute. You should’ve given him your cell number.”
Ariana-“Yeah, he was. But I’m not paying for long distance to talk to somebody who probably doesn’t even live a mile away from me, especially if I don’t know them.”
Krysteena-“It’s not like you can’t afford it, from the looks of it y'all got dough.”
Ariana-“Just because you can afford something doesn’t mean you should do it. That’s how people go broke. And anyway, I’m sure he probably lives around here somewhere so most likely I’ll be seeing him again.”

We finish up our shopping in Foot Locker. I bought a pair of navy blue and black Airmax and a Nike matching drawstring purse. Krysteena left out empty handed.

Krysteena-“Are you ready to go?”
Ariana-“Yeah but I want to get a pair of shoes to go with this outfit first.”
Krysteena-“What kind of shoes?”
Ariana-“Some boots.”
Krysteena-“Bakers should have something that’ll go with it.”

We went to Bakers and I found a pair of boots that went perfectly with my outfit.

~*IN THE CAR*~

Krysteena-“Me and some of my friends are going to the movies later tonight,” she said as she started the car. “Do you want to come with us?”
Ariana-“I don’t think so; I have a lot of work to do at the house.”
Krysteena-“C’mon it’ll be fun. You’ll love my crew, they’re hilarious. They’ve been dying to see you.”
Ariana-“How can they be dying to see me when they don’t even know I exist?”
Krysteena-“Well not you exactly, the people who bought the house.”
Ariana-“Oh.”
Krysteena-“So are you gonna come?”

I could tell that she wasn’t going to take no for an answer, so I caved.

Ariana-“Sure. Like you said, it’ll be fun.”

Fun? Yeah right…Watching movies with a bunch of broads I don’t know. Sounds like loads of fun to me.

We went back to her house. I got my clothes then walked across the street. I went upstairs to look for something to wear to the movies because I wanted to save the outfit I just bought. I decided to wear an orange off the shoulder shirt and a tan pleated skirt with a pair of orange platform sandals. I went to the bathroom and took a long, hot shower. When I out I curled my hair then got dressed. I went downstairs to get something to drink. As soon as I opened the refrigerator the doorbell rang. I took out a Pepsi then answered the door. It was Krysteena.

Ariana-“Hey.”
Krysteena-“Are you ready?” she asked as she walked into the house.
Ariana-“Yeah. I just have to let my mom know I’m leaving. I’ll be right back.”
