CHAPTER 24 "After all of this time that we tried I found out we were living a lie And after all of this love that we made I found out you don’t love me the same The way that I love you The way that I love you The way that I love you The way that I love you The way that I love you The way that I love you..." Tatianna sang along to Ashanti as she walked home, listening to her iPod. She had put the song on repeat and sang it out loud to herself as she walked home from school. She refused to cry but the few stubborn tears found their way down her face before she could stop them. As her house came into view, she stopped singing and wiped the rest of the stray tears. Before turning onto the pathway leading to her house, she looked towards Jayzier's house to see a guy and girl sitting on the porch steps with Jay'Dontae, she recognized them from school when Jayzier still attended her school. Out of curiosity she crossed the road and walked towards them, as she got closer she recognized their faces, Chris and Jaedene. Once she got within speaking distance, Chris and Jaedene stopped speaking and focused their attention on her. "Um hi" She waves shyly at them as all her confidence disappears. Chris frowns at her, confused at why she came all the over here to just say 'hi'. "What's up?" "Nothing, is Jayzier here?" Tatianna asked, trying to disguise the fact that she was just being nosey. "No" Chris shook his head. "Why?" Tatianna shrugged her shoulders. "Oh I thought he was since y'all were sitting out here" "If he was here, don't you think we would be inside?" Jaedene rhetorically asked. Tatianna blushed in embarrassment. "I was saying because he usually sits out here with Dontae and Xavier" As soon as Jay'Dontae hears his name, he turns around and looks at Tatianna. Once he recognizes who she was he drops Chris' keys and reaches for her. Tatianna picks him up. "Hey baby" She says before kissing his cheek and rubbing her free hand in his hair. "Oh well he ain't here and we can't get in touch with Xavier" Chris explains. Tatianna refocuses her attention on them. "And his mom ain't in either?" "Nope" Jaedene shakes her head. "And we need to get to our next class which starts in" Chris looks at his watch. "An hour and Jayzier ain't getting home till five" "Oh" Tatianna looks at her watch, which reads 2:50pm. "Well I could keep him until Jayzier gets home if you guys need to go" She hesitantly suggests. Jaedene and Chris look at her quizzically. "Or not" |

Chris takes out his cell phone before dialing some numbers and holds it to his ear. "Yo Jay... no he ain't answering... I got class in an hour... I know that... Well Tatianna... She just showed up... I was just about to ask you that... Well excuse the freak out of me... How was I supposed to know?... Whatever... Deuces!" Chris ends the call before looking at Jaedene.
"What he say?" "Nigga was like I should have been left Dontae with her" Chris told her while shaking his head. Jaedene looked at Chris in shock. "I didn't know they were cool like that" "Me either" Chris chuckles while looking at Tatianna. "He'll be here anytime after five" Tatianna nodded her head. "Iight" Jaedene handed her Jay'Dontae's baby bag. "Thanks" "See you later then homie" Chris held his hand up for Jay'Dontae to give him a high five. "Later" "Bye baby" Jaedene kissed Jay'Dontae's cheek. "Bye" "Bye" Tatianna waved before crossing the road and walking into her own house. "Ma!" Tatianna shouts while putting Jay'Dontae on the floor and locking the door behind her. "In the kitchen!" She walks into the kitchen, holding Jay'Dontae's hand. She puts his bag on the counter and put Jay'Dontae on one of the chairs around the breakfast bar. "Where's Katrina?" "Upstairs in her room" Her mother, Claudette, turns around to see Tatianna handing Jay'Dontae his water bottle. "What's he doing here?" "I'm just keeping him till Jayzier get's home from work" "Where's his parents?" "I don't know" Tatianna shrugged her shoulders, while biting into her apple which she just took out of the fruit bowl. "I hope this doesn't become an habit" Claudette shook her head before turning back around to continue to prepare the dinner. "It won't" Tatianna mumbled while rolling her eyes. "I'll be in my room if you need me" Claudette nodded her head as Tatianna picked Jay'Dontae and his baby bag up and continued her journey up to her room. |

She sat Jay'Dontae in the middle of her bed, as she took out her clothes in preparation for her shower. "Trina!"
"Yes!" Katrina shouted back from her room. "Come here!" "Why?" "Just come!" Moments later Katrina walks into the room with a frown on her face. "What?" Tatianna nods towards her bed. "Dontae!" Katrina smiled running towards him. Once she sat on the bed, Dontae clapped his hands while speaking in baby talk. He grabbed her cheeks while smiling. Katrina pulled her head away. "Dontae!" Katrina laughed. "Trina sit him down on the floor with you" Katrina did as instructed. "Watch him carefully, I'm just going to have a quick shower" "Okay" Katrina nodded her head as she continued to play with Jay'Dontae. Comments. Predictions.
