“Hey Mrs. Elaine.” I said.

I decided to go in the house, not for Marcus, but because Mrs. Elaine is like a mother to me now, and if I ruin a relationship like no other, then I don’t deserve anything. When I walked in, I seen Elaine buzzing around. She spotted me and smiled.

“Hey baby. Come here, I want you to see the backyard.”

I headed to the backyard to see everything was set in place. The pool was clean and the covering of the hot tub was off. The outdoor kitchen she had remodeled was decorated with many different lighting fixtures. The door bell suddenly rung. Elaine walked in and yelled to Marcus.

“Marcus! Get the door.” she yelled.

I didn’t want to see his face let alone be in the same room. I knew if I was to see him I would probably cry from the anger inside.

“So…What you think?” she asked walking up towards me.

I quickly changed my facial expression so that I wouldn’t seem as though I was upset.

“It‘s beautiful as usual. You know you didn‘t need me here.” I said.

Marcus walked up behind us. I didn’t look around because I know what would happen.

“The DJ wants to set up his equipment.” he said.
“Good. I‘m glad you’re here early.” she said walking off to show him where to set up his equipment at.

“You should let me explain Eve.” Marcus said still standing behind me saying it in a low tone.

I had my arms folded not wanting to talk to him.

“You don‘t have nothing to say to me.” I said.
“Yes I do.” he said walking around towards me.

“Just get out of my face. The only reason why I am here is to help your momma out.” I said turning my head as I let my emotions get in the way.

“Please don‘t cry, you know I don‘t like it when you cry.” he said as he was trying to wipe my tears away.
“Don‘t touch me.” I said.

Mrs. Elaine walked back over towards us.

“What’s wrong hun?” she asked with a concern look as she looked towards me then Marcus.

I immediately walked in the house and into the bathroom so that I could calm down some. I was pacing back and fourth at first so that I could get a hold on myself, but I don’t belong here. I am an emotional wreck for heavens sakes. I grabbed a napkin then wet it with cold water to get a grip on myself. I was getting over heated, and being this depressed and over heated, that is not a good combination. Suddenly I could hear a knock on the door.

“Are you okay?” Elaine asked tapping on the door.

I just stood there for a minute, then opened the door.

“Yes, I‘m fine.” I said standing at the door feeling a little light headed.

She still looked at me with a concerned look. I see where Cory inherited his look from.

“Are you sure?” she asked once again.

Before I knew it, everything went black…I had awoken in a bed. Cory was fanning me while Elaine was dabbing my face with a wet cold towel. Marcus just stood there in the door way looking at me.

“Good your woke. You had me scared for a minute.” Elaine said,
“Yea girl, you okay.” Slick said.
“Yea. Just a little light headed.” I said.
“Ya‘ll go and make sure the BBQ isn‘t burning.” Elaine said.

The boys left and it was just me and her.

“So tell me something dear.” she said.
“Yea.” I said.
“Did Marcus do something to upset you?” she asked.
“Why you ask that?” I asked looking up at her guilty as charge. Mothers are amazing.
“Because I noticed that you was crying earlier.” she said.

I turned my head and looked the opposite way not wanting to cry.

“You know you could tell me.” she said.
“Mrs. Elaine…” I said.

Then I looked at her as tears was began falling from my eyes. She pulled me in for a hug and I let my head rest on her shoulders as I cried a little more.

“It‘s gonna be okay baby.” she said.
“Mrs. Elaine. You know I love your son.” I said.
“I know dear, I know. Did he do something bad?” she said as she continued rubbing my back in a consoling way.

I nodded my head.

“ What did he do? Its that bad that you two can‘t discuss it.” she asked.
“Mrs. Elaine. How do you forgive someone who you trusted with all your heart to go behind you for your friend.” I said.
“Marcus did what?!” she asked getting loud.
“Please Mrs. Elaine, don‘t worry about it.” I said.
“Don‘t worry about it. What the fact that Marcus is cheating on a good person. No I am going to worry about it because you deserve better dear.” she said.
“Mrs. Elaine. I know this may sound off but I would like for you to keep something between me and you.” I said.
“You know I will dear. Not even to Marcus.” she said.
“Good because it does have a part about Marcus in it.” I said.
“Well tell me dear.” she said.
“Well…I‘m…pregnant.” I said hoping I wasn’t about to get cursed at.
“Are you serious?!” she said sounding a bit excited.
“Yes ma‘am. Three months to be exact.” I said.
“And you haven‘t told him?” she asked.
“No. I don‘t think now is a good time. And I was hoping you would hold this between you and I until I find a way to tell him in my own words.” I said.
“Okay baby. Just between you and me. I promise.” she said hugging me tightly once again.
“I‘m gonna be a grandma.” she whispered in an undertone.
“Yes…yes you are…” I said just as excited.

I decided to add another piece before I get my beauty rest...lol

I was still in the room resting, more like sleeping when I could hear loud music blasting through the walls. I needed to leave, so I got out the bed and headed downstairs to see crowds of people all in the living room and outside wearing barely anything but their bathing suits. I was trying to find Mrs. Elaine to let her know I was leaving, but I didn’t see her through the crowd. As I turned around to leave out the door, someone bumped against me with a drink in their hand, spilling some on my blouse.

“Oops…my…” but the girl stopped.

I looked up at her to see it was Renada. There go my emotions acting up again. I wanted to strangle her but what’s the use. You can’t change anyone. She stared at me as though we were still cool. Who do she think I am. How do you forgive someone who will not change the way they are. I mean, I understand your hormones gets the most of you, but one thing I realized about Renada is she has hormones like a man, it just won’t end. I didn’t even say anything to her as I continued to walk past the crowds. I could feel someone pulling my arm back.

“Wait a minute Eve. Let me tell you what happened.” she said still having a grip on my arm.

I stopped and snatched my arm from her grip.

“Like I told Marcus. I don‘t need to hear it.” I said then made my way to the door.

Cars was everywhere but I’m glad someone told them to not block the driveway. I was heading off the porch, but didn’t realize Marcus was sitting on the porch. He called out to me.

“Wait Eve…” he said standing up.
“Shouldn‘t you be inside. It is your party.” I said refusing to turn his way but continued to walk to my car.

He trailed up behind me, and when I went to open my car door, he stopped me by placing his hand on the door.

“If you would just give me a minute to tell you what happened dammit!” he said getting upset.
“I have eyes Marcus. I seen what happened so why do I need to hear it as well?” I shot back.

He just stood there for a minute. I guess trying to collect his thoughts.

“See that‘s what I thought. How could you explain that to me?” I said. ”You hurt me once. Do I have to hear it as well. Please Marcus, just live your life and I live mines. It‘s over.” I continued letting tears flow.

I couldn’t hide my feelings no more. I couldn’t sit hear and pretend that he didn’t hurt me, he needed to see. I pushed him back to open my door to my car and got in. He just looked at me as I cranked my car up and left…
