All that night, I constantly was receiving phone calls. I barely ate, but slept til noon the next day. When I did wake up, I checked my phone and seen Elaine called me. I forgot about the party she wanted me to help her with. I called her back and she answered.
“Hey dear, me and Marcus been trying to call you.” she said so sweetly. I knew Marcus didn’t tell her what happened yesterday. “I‘m sorry, I guess I was just out of it yesterday.” “That‘s understandable for being an honor student and all.” she said. We laughed a little bit. “So are you still coming to help me with the party and all?” she asked. One thing about his momma. She is a party animal. She always did throw Cory and Marcus a party whenever they asked. I wanted to scream though, and tell her I hate her son, but she did so much for me. How could I break her heart and tell her that her son was a cheater and a betrayer. Then on top of that, I’m pregnant by him. “Of course. You know I wouldn‘t leave you hanging.” I said feeling myself getting sick in the stomach. “I know baby girl. Well love ya ad see you soon.” she said then hung up. I felt myself getting sick and immediately ran to my private bathroom. After feeling better, I went to my closet to find something to wear. My jeans were so tight and my shirts was getting snugged, so I went to my next alternative. I found my brown leggings and a crop top that flowed by my mid thigh. This was perfect. I hopped in the shower first and began thinking about the past two years. Was it true, or was it just another lie in my life. How could I be so stupid? I decided to wait and tell him about the pregnancy so that he wouldn’t be so stressed at the end of the school year, but I guess not. Maybe if I would have told him then he would have matured some rather than crushing my heart…I was fully dressed and ran downstairs to see my momma and grandmother on the sofa talking. “Hey baby.” my grandma, Rosette, said. “Hey grandma.” I said giving her a hug. “What took you so long to leave your room?” my momma asked. “Just getting ready to go to the party Marcus momma is giving him.” I said as I could see my momma rolling her eyes. “You look nice. And it looks like your gaining a lil weight baby, but still beautiful.” My grandma said. “Thanks. I guess.” I said. “Oh really. Who is taking you?” she said. “I was wondering if I could borrow your car?” I said with a big smile. “Oh really…” she began to say. “Evette!…Where are you baby girl?” my dad yelled out. “In here.” I yelled back. “Well, come here.” he shouted. I ran towards where he was. “What did you want?” I asked. Then I noticed a new 2007 Honda Accord coupe parked out front. It was burnt orange in color, a very clean cut car. “Well, baby girl. What you think?” he asked. I shouted and ran up to him hugging him tightly. “Thank you daddy.” I said walking up towards it. Spec, my lil brother, was already standing by the car. “Get your grimy hands off my car.” I said cheesing. “I‘m the one who told them to get this car, so I have just as much right. Tell her dad.” he said. “He‘s right. He did help choose this car for you baby doll.” he said. “Thank you so much. I would hug you but…” I said looking at his appearance. “Your good. And love you too.” he said. We’re only a year apart, but he is my heart. I love my brother, and never let any female I didn’t trust near him. I kissed him on the cheek before I got in. “You should have saved that kiss.” he said. “Don‘t wipe it off. I just wanted to share the love.” I said. “The key is already in the ignition so have fun.” my dad shouted. I blew him a kiss then pulled out. I pulled up to their house with knots in my stomach. No one was there yet, so I pulled in the drive way and just sat there asking myself questions. I was debating should I stay or should I leave. I didn’t want to not show up because of Mrs. Elaine, but then again wanted to leave because of Marcus. I don’t think my emotions could handle being in the same room or near HIM at this time. I sat there for another minute until I spotted Cory coming out of the house with a big blue shirt on some baggy shorts and slippers. He walked over to me, waving for me to come in. One thing about Cory is that he choicely chooses his friends. Him and I are good friends though., like brother and sister. I had stepped out of my car. “Hey Cory.” I said. “Wassup with you? Nice ride. Graduation gift?” he asked. “Yep…” I said then looked down “What’s wrong? You look like you don‘t want to be here.” he said looking at my facial expression. “It‘s that obvious?” I asked. “What‘s wrong? What happened?” he asked so concerned. “Well, to be honest, it‘s hard for me to remember. It‘s like a big blur in my mind.” I said. “Well, you know you could tell me anything right.” he said. “Yea…” I said, then smiled. He has a kind heart for people to treat him like an out cast. One day he will sweep the right woman off of her feet. I stood there for a minute determining if I really wanted to go in.
