Nedra-
My 16 year old cousin has this disease...I know it sounded familiar for some reason. Look in health stores for snacks ... they always have a bunch of them here in North Dakota.

Good thing it's finally diagnosed!

Good luck with it!

When I was poking around the internet a couple of days ago, I found some great cookbooks and stuff for people with Celiac... remind me to point you in that direction.

Seems to me there IS another person...

Anyone remember WHO?

Thank you, sweetie!

I've been checkin' it out all over, but recipes not as easy to find.

Please DO show me.

HUGS

RCAlbert Smiler

prolly nothing you didn't find, but at celiac.com you can get to an online store where you can buy gluten free just about anything.

LOL

After today...

Some of it tastes good, and uh, well... some of it DOESN'T!

LOL

Thanks!!!

Thank you, thank you, Nancy!

I'm too happy to go into the fiasco that is the HMO insurance run around and how it prevents good care...

I just finally found highly recommended docs, bit the bullet and PAID for better treatment.

The extra expenses were tough on us, but...

NOT as tough as dealin' with an unknown illness, in the long run.

I have a friend who has this, or something similar which means she has to have a gluten-free diet, and she makes the greatest cakes in all the world with special gluten-free ingredients... I'll have a chat with her and ask her for any information I can pass onto you!
I know a few people who have to have gluten-free diets so I know it's not uncommon.

OH! Thanks, Bev!

My kids are gonna eat what I do and they are already JONESIN' for cake!

LOL

I'd appreciate ANY info!

Look at how far these small steps have brought you. You're going to get WELL. You're going to get SKINNY. And because of your strength and sheer will, you found out how to heal your son as well. Good Mama Nedra, always.

I'm so proud of you for not giving up. It's time to get that body of yours well! It's spent too long suffering.

*breaks out the vodka*

Next time we meet up, we're gonna have some SERIOUS fun. At least there will always be vodka, yes? I've done some tequila shots in my day...though I won't vouch for my behavior afterwards. Wink

I love you, darlin'. You're on your way.

Hell, Riki, with the love and support you've given me over these years, how could I NOT succeed?

You've comforted, listened, nagged (heehee), encouraged and HOPED with me all along...

You, of all people, also know/have seen the full extent of how SERIOUS this disease can BE if untreated.

They freakin' need to make me the poster lady for the BEFORE pic, huh?

*grins*

Can laugh now, but...

I love you, Riki.

And no words written here could truly express my feelings of gratitude for your friendship.

Thanks, Rob! You led me to a kinship I never imagined...

Did I hear celebration? Vodka? Lead on...

SOON, I hope.

MISS YOU!

I was (and am) a big, freakin' nag, yes. I nagged in silence more than you'll ever know.

It all makes sense now, doesn't it? All those symptoms? I'm eager to hear what the nutritionist and the specialist have to say. I want details!

I have a feeling, Nedra. This is just the beginning of big things for you. You're just starting to take back your life. I wish I could articulate how proud I am of you.

*holds up a vodka toast*

To the strongest woman I know.

*holds up a second vodka toast*

To Rob, for introducing me to my best friend.

*holds up a third vodka toast, spilling some of it in the process*

Oops! To August, may you feel better and better as the month goes on. Wink
