I took a two week sabbatical from the mb20 boards about three years ago... funny how time goes by.

I can't believe how quiet this board is now.

I posted saying I was disappearing for a little while, but I have a feeling a scr*wed up the email address I left *slaps self in head*. I have been fine, anyway, unfortunately not a whole lot has changed in my life in the last three years, but hopefully I will rectify that soon! How have you been? I had a peek at your 'wow' thread... sounds like you have had some dramas but all is improving now - just in time for Christmas!

It's funny, a few of us seem to have dropped off the radar then reappeared... the_goat was mia when I left the boards, but I see she has made her way back. So sad to see this board so quiet, I remember when I used to come in here there would be about 20 members signed in and 30 guests, usually. D*mn, I really am getting nostalgic now...

Yup everytime I come on here I just want to slap myself silly for leaving but like ya said, so much drama in my life.but most know,as long as I am alive I will always be checking in on one of my two favortie bands in history.I have been around since this place was dirt and watched the love of this band grow to watch the gd itself turn back into dirt sorta

several have said they are out of here for good over adam and over robs solo..but they come back..know why?..cause they too will always love mbt.

As much time as I do spend away from here, I still love coming back to this place, just for that feeling of nostalgia. That, and the people that still frequent this place. Yes, I DO still pop in from time to time, just...not as much as I used to. Real life is such a pain in the ass sometimes. lol. (nah! it's not that bad, but it does keep me busy) Anyway, Just thought I'd pop in and say hi, and then of course, pop back out again. so hi!.

Yeah, it's quiet here these days. Most people (I say "most") migrated over to Rob's solo board and the tide hasn't come back this way--at least not yet.

Reno, my christmas was quite good, spent most of it with my boyfriend's crazy family (well, that wasn't the good part lol), but had lots of turkey, presents, time with my own family and all that good stuff (well, all the family that can stand to be in the same room together! Only four of us this year... we've been pruning the family tree with vigour )

*Giggles* I know just what you mean about your stomach, I didn't eat until 8 pm Boxing Day... could not have fitted anything in even if I wanted to.

I remember a few people vowing a mass exodus over Adam's departure - always wondered how many snuck back sheepishly into the GD a few weeks later. :-) I have to admit I had/have some mixed feelings about Rob's solo efforts, but that doesn't change my feelings about mb20...

Oh, I know exactly what you mean about life getting in the way. I really only intended to take a few weeks away from the boards (and to be honest I don't even remember why now - just general disenchantment with the infighting and some family issues to deal with, I think), but 3 years later, here I am. I guess it's a good thing that I actually have a life away from my computer now (so my mum can stop worrying, lol), but I love the happy little feeling I get coming back here.

lol, you have no idea how much I've missed doing that. It's so good to hear from you again! (And as if I could have forgotten you!)

I have to admit, I did sneak on to the boards a couple of times over the years to look in on you - I saw that you had a play produced, I believe I actually happened on a thread from those who went to the opening night (and absolutely loved it)? (If I'm wrong, forgive my faulty memory - leaks like a tap sometimes!). Anyway, what (else) have you been up to for the past three years? I hope you and your family are all doing wonderfully.

As for me, I've been fairly stagnant. Not that I'm unhappy - I'm just not where I was planning to be at this point in my life. Hopefully I will rectify that next year though. Professionally, I worked as a legal secretary at one firm for 3 years (got the job while i was originally posting on the GD). During the middle of this year they tried to force me into a promotion I didn't want (long and messy story), so I got another job as a legal secretary with another firm (I got poached! So good for the ego... )

Personally, I finally got a boyfriend (*happy dance, happy dance, doing the happy dance*), who I've now been with for 25 months so he's looking like a relativly permanent fixture in my life at this point. (a permanent fixture on the couch usually... boys...) I'm still a voracious reader and occasional writer (although only for my own amusement), something that I hope will never change.

Did the Lyric Lovers thread ever reform when the boards moved? I went and re-read that quite a few times before the old boards were deleted, it always made me smile. Whatever happened to Kari and Sabrina?

I have so many questions, but I'd better not bombard you .

Thank you for the update on your goings on. I've wondered so many times how you're doing. I remember when you got that job at the law firm. Are you happy at the new place? Where did you plan to be at this point in your life? It never does work out exactly as we planned, eh? Yeepah on the boyfriend front! What's he like? Details. It's all in the details. You know that.

All's well here in New York. Yes, I'm still playwriting, and wow you are remembering correctly about that play a couple of years ago. I've had a couple more produced since, and I'm currently part of a playwrights' group. I just got word about another big opportunity I was chosen for, but I can't talk about it until it's announced next week. (Hm, cryptic much? I know. Sorry...)

My husband's business is doing well and so is he. Our son is nine and is my rock. He's a great little person. And whip smart too. He amazes me.

I don't remember if the Lyric Lovers thread made it over to Rob's board. I do miss our particular, and peculiar, camaraderie. It's been lonely in my head!

Last I heard, Kari was attending Boston University or Northeastern, I don't remember which one. I'm almost giddy when I say I heard from Sabrina just this morning, after something like a two-year lull. She graduated college (with highest honors, the twit ) and she and her husband are set to attend graduate school. That's all I know for the moment. I intend to write her back ASAP.

So, do tell me more about yourself. If you'd rather PM me, feel free. When I'm checking in on the Rob/matchbox world, I usually do so over at Rob's solo board. You can always PM me there if this board should ever go wherever old websites go to retire.
