What do yall think about sampling? Is it wack? Stupid? Pointless? An art form? Biting?

Actually, I like it. Some people love their Ol' School jazz, I like Ol' School music. But, that's my personality. As far as using samples, it has it's pros and cons. Kanye and JustBlaze, just to name a few, are using samples without using original beats and they are making no apologies for it. Producers need to come up with something new and inventive and not depend on the Ol' school to give them help all of the time. They should take a break from it. But then again, Hip Hop started off with sampling so I really can't much.

I think a lil sampling is good just don't take it to far by coping the exact same song/words to a tee(like Jay has done so many times.) Sample it then make it your own!

I love samples, but I'd like to see a bit more own production, if with a sample,t hens urrounding it. Sometimes a sample is just a simple drum beat, but the rest around it is so original there ain't no sample.

Its cool to me. RZA from Wu-tang was the one who started the sped up sample thing that Kanye and Just blaze does, but other than a couple of beats form the south and maybe some from the west coast producers Everything is a sample. I use to think The Neptunes dont sample but i foud out that the take a sapmle and play it backwards.
