Not really in order, but really all who I care to listen to:

1. Lil' Wayne - (besides the kiss & tell) He's got some very clever wordplay schemes. He is (to me) the best rapper in the South.

2. T.I. - Even though he seems to rap about the same thing (trappin', f**kin' niggas up, etc.), he does it betta that any other trap artist in the trap game.

3. Ludacris - He's still up to par with his freestylin', but he's making too many "I CAN RAP" songs instead of just rappin'. Songs like "Runaway Love" shows that he kinda realize that he don't have to prove himself to othas. Just make good music, Luda! Intellects believe him, he don't need more people.

4. Chamillionaire - He's like the only Houston reppa that raps more that just about cars, grills, chopped & screwed...just basically BLING. He has been improvin' wit his wordplay. Now he just gotta make music.

5. Young Buck - The best rapper in G-Unit (Omit 50 Cent), yet he's a southern reppa. The ignorant region whose mindset is stuck on material things. Buck proves that he's still worth givin' a listenin'. Even though he seems to rap so much about murder/death/kill, he's str8 to the point with it. Hardly any metaphors, like he studied 2Pac's lyrics real carefully.

If I did groups, then Lil' Brother & The Clipse would be 2 of the top five groups down here, but is North Carolina & Virginia still considered the South? It was during the Union/Confederate years...

for me ludacris would be my number 1 pick, I just think he's on a higher level

i agree with that list, i neva thought luda was that great though, like the down south redman to me. except chamillionaire..that nigga cant catch a beat to save his life...prolly cuz of that weird ass flow...i would replace him with killer mike..
