Anyone saying Lil Wayne is better than Lupe is a pure moron. Compare the lyrics of the two men and it's just clear to see who is the more original influential artist...Lupe makes better music, writes better lyrics, releases better albums...no one can dispute that.

But why is it we still cheer on for the bad guy?
It's sad that people are like that.

But being Lupe I wouldn't even give a damn.
I really think Lupes main purpose for doing music is too prove a point and to show his views of the world.
He isn't doing it for money I don't think, he wants to open eyes.

That's an extremely pessimistic view of things.

I swear i get tired of Lupe fans saying Lupes music is "right" and everyone else is "wrong" You guys need to step out of your cocoon in what every small town high school your in a view the rest of the world and stop trying to reach "Enlightenment" by listing to Lupe's lyrics hanging on his every word.

The reality is the world Is Guns, the world is Drugs, the world Is Domestic Violence, The world is a mass of insecurities that Lupe himself raps about but he presents it differently. He presents it in a less Harsh but still potent perspective. If you strip down Daydream for subject matter its virtually the same thing as Hustler Musik, they're both talking about drugs, prostitutes, corrupt police ect, but they are presented in 2 very different perspectives.

As far as the Grammies, Wayne Won not because the Carter 3 was a good album (and it actually a good album) but that's the last thing he would have one for, cus IMO he had the worst album in the category, But like it or not Wayne has Made a Huge impact on the music industry as of late not just in Hip hop but in music in general, and Him NEVER having a grammy it was his time to receive one, Yes The Cool was the Best album in the Category,but so Was Food and Liquor, But the same thing happened with it being Ludacris's time to win a Grammy, Had it been that The Cool Was Lupe's Last album, He probably would have won, But Lupe's impact on The Music Industry has yet to really Manifest itself, and I think with his next album if he is nominated he is likely to win.

No im not saying everyone elses music is "wrong", but its sure as hell isn't "right".
If you really look at it, Lupe and the rest of the artist do rap about the same thing, but Lupe just sets a perspective on it that no one will even think of touching.
That is genius, being creative and hitting different topics with different perspectives.
Most rappers go for the first person and say "I get money", "I get low", "I'm the bomb like tick".
But the Grammys are bs to me.
I mean best rap song was "Lollipop", a song about sucking dick? Step back and look at that with a different view..
That is stupid as hell man.
And his album was ok.
The songs i thought were good were
1. Shoot Me Down- It had a real nice beat BEAUTIFULLY produced by Kanye, but i think the lyrics were like 3.5/5
2. Doctor Carter- He couldve done better with the lyrics though and made it more creative. I mean Swizzy shouldve just handed that to Jay-Z 3.0/5
3. Playing With Fire- Lyrics were good and but he was a little off topic and i couldnt keep up with it 4/5
4. You Aint Got Nothing On Me- This song was making fun of underground music to me. Anyone who listens to Apathy, Styles Of Beyond, Blu, or any of that kind of stuff knows that this was just a little taste of the shit talking kind of music 3/5
