I'm wondering how people around here like the album. I'm also looking for a summary of what its about/the style of it. What are people's thoughts?

Waste of time unless you're a hardcore Nas fan.

Listen to the album and be your own judge, don't count on other people's opinions for music tastes.

But as for the album concept, it's pretty self explanatory, for example, buying the album and forming your opinion on it would be a goal of this album.

who keeps the villagers circling the marketplace
out searching for the G-spot
Maybe she didn't feel y'all shared any similar interests
Or maybe you're just an asshole; maybe I'm just an asshole"

"All I ever wanted was to pick apart the day
Swallow up the pieces
Spit 'em at your species
Reachin' the city of lost barnacles and leeches
Night-light got me when the daylight went to evening"

how about... download it/buy it and make your own opinion about it... who the fuck cares what someone else thinks?

but to answer your question... i've only listened to select tracks and have yet to burn it to cd so i could listen to it... but i almost don't care about this album since nas gave in and dropped the name of the title

You would've done the same thing if 20 something stores wouldn't have sold your album cause of the title. Nas wanted his work to reach the masses. Besides, any music fan that takes pride in a album title isn't listening for the music, we still heard the same album, outside of the single (couldn't clear a sample). But eiter way, same music, same everything, but we only heard it cause he did change the album title.

Bullshit, Nas is nowhere near the first person to put "Nigger" as a title. And many of stores still carried it. Also, he could of made it a download if he was o so concerned.

Lets see some titles with tha word in it. The "er" spelling is much more serious than the "ga" spelling, which many rappers have put out (ODB, Pac (even though it was censored, and NWA put their title backwards). So c'mon man, produce some album titles from rappers that had the "er" spelling in their title.

Richard Pryor-That Nigger's Crazy and Bicentennial Nigger
John Lennon(song)-Woman is the Nigger of the World
K Beta-Nigger CD
TWBN-The World's Baddest Nigger
Jack Tragic-White Nigger Rising

etc. etc.

And no, there isn't a difference between Nigger and Nigga.

1. None of those "albums" had coverage from CNN MSNBC, or criticism from the NAACP.

2. No one outside of obscure music listeners give two shits about any of the titles you just produced.

3.No difference between "Nigger" and "Nigga"? Hmmm, your opinion, but one word has history (lots of history) and the other is trashy ghetto slang.

Hey, i give you props for dropping titles though. And seeing John Lennon getting his name dropped in Lupe forums Wink.

And your point is? First off, John Lennon ain't even a rapper that was releasing an album around the same time the NAACP had a mock funeral to bury the word. Two, even though the song was banned from the radio, music wasn't downloaded back then and people were gonna buy a John Lennon album whether or no the song received radio play. Third, the Lennon song was actually praised by people, white and black, not criticised like the Nas album was. Fourth, rap music is and always will be looked at in a different way, the people that pre judged the Nas album before they heard the music were judging the word based on the way it's used in the hip-hop culture, which is less than flattering and I don't blame them for hating if they turn on the TV or Radio and see what kind of hip-hop is out there. You think people are going to look at John Lennon the same way? It's not fair or right, but that's the way it is. So much for Free Speech in this country.

I only liked Breathe, Fried Chicken, Louis Farrakhan, Project Roach, Black President. The album style for the most part was Nas "kickin knowledge" over stripped down beats... not particularly GOOD stripped down beats btw. Overall i did not like it.

lmao at Mike, a white man, tellin Graff, a black man, what "nigger" and "nigga" "REALLY" mean XD. And I think Graff won that lil arguement....

I would take your response seriously if you and blacks dicks weren't stuck together in a chinese finger trap.

Besides, you me and Black are all too young to understand the words, but anyone who thinks they can say that the "er" word doesn't have more importance to it is just a tool, a major tool.

and rapf, you can kiss my white ass, read a few history books and study up on the subject before commenting again.
