Vibe Magazine knows nothing about hip-hop anyways. They gave Nas's Album Stillmatic 3.5, and one of their main problems with Stillmatic was that Nas criticized the foreign policies of President George Bush...I have yet to read Vibe magazine since.

Is VIBE really the only ones who have lost sight on what hip hop truly is? Realize they are the media, media is not concerned about true hip hop but rather concerned with the latest trends, and in todays time the "trends" are "cranking batmans" and "super soaking hoes" (???). Hip hop is in a tragic state today as she barely clings to life because the natural beauty of the art has been compromised for the sake of making a crowd clap. Seems like any fool can sit on a computer in their dorm and make a song saying anything, so long as they make up a dance that is even more foolish in appearance than the lyrics sound, and it will sell. Where have all the real MC's gone?? Not a damn where, but they are over looked and over shadowed and deprived of the true recogniton they deserve because people aren't nearly half as concerned with the beauty of the art of hip hop as they are with men who kiss eachother and lick lolli pops. No one is concerned with QUALITY these days but rather QUANTITY, as the great KRS1 said "thinking record sales make them the dopest". What ever happened to word play and overall lyrical GENIUS?! What happened to story telling, verses that made sense and actually MATCH THE HOOK?!? What are the true makings of a MC? A MC has the ability to diversify and deliver. A true MC paints a picture with his words, breathes life into his mic and posseses as much intellect as he does swagg. A true MC understands quality over quantity and does not sell his soul and art to the common day devil we know as the media. A TRUE MC'S VOICE WILL BE HEARD despite what the media says or thinks. GOD BLESS to all the true MC's NAS, Common, Talib Kweli, Mos Def, MF DOOM, LUPEmperor (and so many more). Thankyou for not tainting the art and keeping hip hop as pure as you can. Thankyou for not compromising yourself or the art...

I hadn't even heard of vibe but I own 4 Lupe CD's, goes to show that Lupe is bigger than any mag. The fact that vibe is mentioned here means I've now heard of it so they got free advertising. I'm not about to start reading it but there's some food for thought.

hi lu this is seriously your number one fan Amber, im a 14 year old balck girl who lives in metropolitan detroit
i totally agree with your concept lu, and its not because i love you...i mean i love your music...lol...its because i feel as if you were taking some of yor words out of my own mouth, i talk amongst family and friends about music and when the cnverstion comes up about whos the best i simply state my well-used phrase, to each his own, and then i state my own...lupe, im not your only fan in my house my brother terrance, 23 intoduced me to your lyrics some time november of this year, i just feel your music, me being a poet im always looking for new things to write about and new ways to see the world, lupe since november you have inspired my poetry, i just have one question, wat exactly gave you your perception of the world?

When I first saw the black/white/red-soles colourway I wasnt so sure. I tried them on and quite like how they feel.

I then read about the white/black/concord colourway and totally fell in love with how they look. I missed out on the white/black Jordan XI's so I thought this Jordan 6 Rings is a good alternative. The white/black/concord colourway kinda look like Jordan XI's.

So I went to the shops and came home with 2 pairs of them Smiler

Asalamu Laikum
Wasalu Muhammad Jaco thank you for speaking the truth. There are others out there like you, and we are fighting every day against the wall of money that hides the truth. As the Koran says: " '...what is the best type of Jihad [struggle].' He answered: 'Speaking truth before a tyrannical ruler.' "
Riyadh us-Saleheen Volume 1:195
You my brother are a mighty warrior(in my eyes), and I hope to someday see you at a show if you are ever in the Kansas area. Going to school right now at Washburn University, and will be off to Egypt to study for a semester next fall. Thank you for your poetry, and art. Ma'salama

Just some appreciation to lupe. One of the few real and original. Ya weezy has a high rank, but he doesnt write his own and he can"t write a clean verse even if someone gave him one.

LUPE.

From the streets of Detroit. We love you and thankyou for saying what can not. We are muted, but we talk and we feel. These streets never felt so cold. I hope one day to be like you. You are inspiration and a role model to a street kid with nothing but a pen and paper. I hope to one day rise above everything, like you, spread truth, and bring reality back. I want to build these streets. We live, regardless of the circumstances. I met you at Eastern Michigan, but I hope that one day, our paths will cross. You're a hero to these streets.

peace

NOBODY SEES US OUT HERE! I AM THESE STREETS..WE BREATHE IN SYNC..WE ARE OUT HERE. CAN YOU SEE US? WE TRY, ITS HARD NOT TO BE WRONG AND THE TIME I FEEL RIGHT, IS WHEN I WRITE. IT HAS TO BE MORE TO LIFE THAN THIS.

Orange is not may favorite color,
Orange is what I wear everyday
Orange is a color when outside everyone knows I
belong to the system Jail.
Orange is not my favorite color
It was Green for the color of money, But changed
because of the color Red
Red of the blood when my gun went off and a man lied motionless with red all around him.
Green truned to red, Red to to Orange Orange I know will turn to the color of Love once again since I am changing inisde My Orange colored world. I'm wearing orange for life, but when I'm out in the yard I see the colors of life
Thank you God for the color Orange, it might have saved many lives since I only say Green. I'm sorry for the pain I have caused and the life that is no longer

Lupe, I make a difference also. Look at the words we share and how we can help one another. Keep up the great work. Amy

You said on one of your tracks You use to omit the work bitch, until you dated one. I like that because some people get upset when they hear it with out thinking, they do exist.
