Young Jeezy and TIP actually did good on the remix I thought, lupe didn't dumb it down, he just appealed to a different crowd, his lyrics are still heavy in terms of lyricism, rhyme scheme, metaphors, similies, all forms of rhetoric are still there.

Jeezy aint lyrical, and T.I. aint on tha highest level, but they get play cuz of what? THEIR SWAGGER. What iz bein a SUPERSTAR all about? SWAGGER!!!! It makes sense.

The fact is that Lupes verse in the remix was not dumbed down,i dont care who he collabs with as long as he spits a "lupe" verse, if anything he made jeezy fans realize how crap young jeezy is.

In the 106 interview, lupe said one of his biggest surprises was when jeezy told he was a fan. You never know, his part in the remix might have even been a request on jeezys part.

He's not TRYING to sound like anyone else. How is he TRYING? Because you feel like there's nothing to decipher? Because there are no double entendres? Because he's on a track with two artists he happens to like?
That's what I mean when I say I don't understand why people expect him to sound the same forever. You can't knock him down for doin a track with two people he's a fan of. And actually, what GAVE him his shine was soundin' like the 'typical rappers' which may be, in your opinion, Jeezy and T.I., AND growing from that. So it's not really out of his field.
And people on this board, yeah they like those kind of artists...but they like MORE than that. It's almost like you're labeling them. Like because they like Lu, they have to like Common and Kanye and whoever. Thats why I hate the label that Lupe and all of them have...Concsious rapper...THEY are MORE than that. Way more.
