So i was wit friends/fam. Kid from MD been a die hard weezy stan. Classic case. Everybody in the room knew. Me bein known as the Lupe stan.

So MD tryin to talk bout weezy (couple of the females leave the room). We all groanin. So as a joke i just spit out "yo, so, forreal... we all know Lu better than wayne." Then began the madness. Became me vs. MD tryin to convince my cuz who was better... droppin lines and playin joints ect.

First thin i stated was evident. MD only heard Superstar. Ive BEEN bumpin Weezy joints. So he was at disadvantage for havin retrospect in this arguement.

So they were buggin over these lil lines from Mr. Carter/A millie (one line on Mr. Carter i thought was nice that i actually slept on). But anyways i just spin "1st & 15th is Back". Barely any reaction. I made sure they understood it too. Then he played "Sky is the Limit". I was like eh... ive seen this same type lil wordplay done tenfold times better many times before. Then i dropped the second verse of Champ is Here. Broke it down. Nuthin. I gave up after that. I mean they understood it for sure. Not impressed wutsoever.

Rite after they went on wylin over some weezy lines. Im sittin like wtf. Almost felt a hatred for wayne gonna say he one of the worst ever... but kept my head.

So im just postin this so i can hear u guys say "oh shit those lines were nasty, i dunno how the fuck they didnt like it". Thx.

yo kidd i dont even kno wats the deal. i got in the same argument wit mad dudes doin the same thing droppin lu' lines n breakin em down for the ppls, n they jus be like..... like one dude used the verse from Something You Forgot which is a song a love by wayne cuz it got heart to it but it dont have NO lyrical attributes like punchs, metaphores or anything, but the dude was just wilin over it. so i dont kno wat it is, i think wayne got sum spell on niggas lol. n 4 them not to be wilin over Champ is Here, yea they trippin. the same verse with "So I get Back To The Flo Like Crunchin"? yea they trippin lol

but i also have come to the conclusion ppl that listen to mainstream dont like to think, n lupe metaphores are 4 the thinkers like us. or atleast thats just my observation.

arguing lu vs weezy is like arguing about a doctor vs pro athlete...does that comparison make sense? it could, it couldn't... but it could almost certainly be a good arguement...maybe

Could of chosen better songs for Lupe. Most likely was the case that Lupe was too "complicated" for them. Regardless that you broke it down, they just want to hear a punch line and go "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO". Should of just played a Big L freestyle.

Who cares, I gave up on people a long time ago, they are hypnotized and that can't be changed. If you really wanted to try to convince them otherwise, don't play Lupe's punchline tracks, show them why Lu is an alternative to Waynes style (whatever that may be). Play songs like Glory and Dedicated and show that Lupe is MORE than just a punchline rapper (which is all Wayne is).

People liked 2pac for that reason, same with BIG, same with Kanye, etc. Lu's punchlines are too complicated for narrow minded Wayne stans. You might as well play them some Canibus lol.

And that's also why backpackers etc. don't like him, they want to be challenged in their listening and want the rappers to use their intellect and so they will have to use their intellect to decipher the message.

Oh btw, I used to be a Lil Wayne fan, and still hear his music thanks to friends and stans, the dude is still many notches below a lyricist on his best day. He brings nothing new to the table that I already haven't heard. Hip-Hop is sickening even the fans cause they settle for mediocrity. We need to hold our artists to higher standards. This is why for the last 10 years the underground has been putting out bad ass album after bad ass album, because fans of underground hip-hop hold their artists to higher standards which forces the artist to really raise their level.
